Kershaw is a starter though. There's a huge difference between starting and relievers when it comes to ERA expectancy. Not to take anything away from the Lightning Master, but it's an apples to oranges comparison.
Getting base-runners isn't the problem jung. The real problem is hitting when they are on. Right now it doesn't matter how many outs there are when they have runners on. They just can't drive them in.
Well it's May 14th. Part of it has to do with him being rushed after the concussion. A lot of posters here (and a couple journalists) argued that he should have been given more AB's in the minors before coming up to the big club given time lost after the injury. They were right.
Couple of quick points:
Ellsbury has a sub .320 OBP even with tonight's showing. Why is he leading off?
Nava is scorching and he's sitting out to a guy who cannot put bat on ball. Gomes shouldn't play right now.
Salty needs to go. Lavarnway deserves an extended look.
This is an interesting baseball argument i had with a friend of mine: How high-strikeout hitters are prone to big BABIP fluctuations.
The Red Sox are a good example, since they strike out like a dumb blonde with daddy issues, if strikeouts were the only father figure in her life, and she follows K's around because of it.
It's very difficult to be consistent when you strike out this much as a team.
I suggest you stop the trolling or you won't last long here. We don't take very well to trolls on this forum, with the exception of Jacko, but that's because we collectively laugh at him.
Fred, you're absolutely s***ing on the ignore feature again, but otherwise i feel your pain. Even more so knowing that the two Blue Jays fans i know won't shut the f*** up because they won this weekend series.
Subtly, but yes. Something needs to be done to light a fire under them. When they hit, they don't pitch. When they pitch, they don't hit. If they're doing just enough to win a game, they don't catch the ball, or throw it into CF.
They keep saving all their bullets for the last three IP. They spend the first two thirds of the game swinging wildly then get patient in the 7th all of a sudden.
Ellsbury is really pressing, and needs to be removed from the leadoff spot for the time being. Nava needs more PT until he cools off.
My ideal lineup right now:
Victorino
Pedroia
Ortiz
Napoli
Nava
WMB
Salty
Drew
Ellsbury
