    Being disciplined in picking up bad contracts? That is ridiculous by definition. It's a bad contract for a reason. You're killing me here. And iortiz, maybe you can take two seconds to stop your Papelbon worship and think about the future. Paying guys for what they've done instead of what they'll do is a recipe for failure. We get it, you like Papelbon. But if you could get a guy who could give you 80% of his production for a third of the money and lesser prospects, would you trade for him, or the other guy? If you say Papelbon, well then i'm just glad you're not running this team.

    All more appetizing options than Papelbon. The whole "The Sox aren't cash strapped so they should spend money" mentality is what got them into the mess they were in last year in the first place. You don't take on bad contracts just because you can. That is a recipe for failure.

    People seem to generally have an embedded dislike for Stephen because of his brother. He could be OPS'ing .900 and some would still say he's not "playing very well".

    Palodios, Marcum is no longer the pitcher he was when he had those good years in the AL East. His already fringe stuff has declined, and he's post-op. Advocating for him is indefensible.
