  1. Not who you should hit it to if you wanna get a hit
  2. Ortiz and Pedroia are a wrecking crew.
  3. Baseball players are creatures of habit. "Designated roles" is kind of a mantra they live by.
  4. I think they really wanna keep Tazawa in his current "relief ace" role, and i think it makes sense.
  5. I remember reading somewhere that both our good friend A-Rod and D-Ped had a hand in him adopting the new, contact-first stroke.
  6. You keep banging the Lavarnway drum, but he could have hit his way into the MLB roster, but didn't. Deal with it. Drew is playing because he's been excellent defensively and has provided some semblance of offense while WMB provides neither of. That's why he's at SS and Iglesias, who, with his superior defensive ability, was able to move around the diamond, is at third. That is the common sense move. You're just looking for an excuse to whine. The Kalish point has been hammered into oblivion, and is a massive logical fallacy. Again, just whining for the sake of whining. The important thing is what's currently happening, and as your above point proves it's been better. Under the current FO, this organization has never been shy in promoting positional prospects, and suggesting or stating otherwise is ridiculous. The problem is that they've coddled pitching prospects to the extent that it hurts their development. That point is absolutely true, but it's something that's improving at the organizational level as we see the aggressive promotion of pitching prospects this season, with Webster already making his debut, and RDLR soon to follow. Isn't it all about "what have you done for me lately" anyway?
  7. His numbers say otherwise. He has an ample MLB track record as an upper echelon reliever even though he has little velocity. And he's not the only guy who's been extremely effective with little velocity (Foulke, Hoffman). Not saying he's either of those guys, but he has a similar profile. If anything's going to hold Uehara back from being an effective closer, it's durability.
  8. That depends on whether or not Tazawa/Uehara can get the job done.
  9. I literally predicted that Papelbon's peripherals would catch up to him and he'd have a season closer to 2010 than 2011 or 2012. This happened during one of my many Papelbon arguments with iortiz. If you had me on ignore and didn't read the post, that's your problem
  10. I didn't post anything about Papelbon in the Red Sox prediction thread? Color me surprised. However, as Bellhorn pointed out, i have mentioned many times Papelbon's declining K rate, BABIP and declining velocity (which you called me out in a gamethread) as indicators of looming regression. Cut the crap.
  11. Meanie head
  12. I got lambasted on this site for predicting the exact same thing. Just sayin'.
  13. Orioles lost, Blue Jays lost. It was a good day......
  14. SoxSport's logic is obviously flawed. That's not how the baseball economy works. And Kershaw is an awful example, since when he signs his Dodgers extension, he'll be exhibit A of just how expensive starting pitching has become.
  15. It's funny you say that Fred, given how aggressively they have been promoting guys as of late. What you and SoxSport are saying is absolutely wrong. The only reason RDLR isn't in the big league roster is because they're still building up his pitch count.
  16. Oh i was wrong about him. I thought he'd provide innings but have an ERA near five.
  17. Were ya looking in the mirror when you posted that?
  18. Well we agree on something for once. Dempster has certainly performed better than almost everyone (including me) expected.
  19. When i said "not sure if serious...." i was referencing an internet meme. Who's the fool?
  20. That clearly wasn't the point SFF was trying to make, oh master of lackluster reading comprehension.
  21. Not sure if serious...
  22. I could not disagree more. While i think Segura's a good player, i think his OBP and therefore his SB will fall off a cliff because of his lack of plate discipline. He WILL slump eventually. We can agree to disagree and wait and see what happens.
