    If Abreu needs time to develop, then the Red Sox should not make a monster investment in him. As for Carp, his performance this year against RHP is probably not something he could replicate playing every day. Being a bench bat is not the same thing as starting on a regular basis. That's probably why Farrell has been so careful about over-exposing him.
