  1. Yes, that is a big part of it. Herrera needs to go, and Sizemore better stop sucking at the plate soon, since he's so bad on the field. The good thing is, that most of what ails the Sox can be fixed. They'll win a lot of games if their RISP numbers normalize and they keep getting good pitching.
  2. It's the team as a whole. As i presented before, they have a sub .700 OPS with men on base/RISP. That is abysmal. The entire team needs to improve.
  3. Batting average is as close to useless as a stat can be. He has a decent OBP (.337) and plays superior defense. He also has 1.023 OPS with RISP, and .873 with men on. You are complaining for the sake of complaining. JBJ has not been a world-beater, but he is not the problem.
  4. Well they gotta play him. In general, the idea that JBJ/lack of Ellsbury is all that plagues this team is unfounded and, quite frankly, pretty damn silly. They have a sub-700 OPS as a team with RISP and men on. It's a team-wide thing.
  5. He has 211 plate appearances. That is a third of a season. Are you serious?
  6. Career .352 OBP. That is decent, not great. Drove in no more than 60 every year other than the fluke 2011 season. Look, i'm not trying to s*** on Ellsbury here, he's a good player, but the contract is stupid. Not as stupid for the Yanks because they can't absorb it, but you can be certain that had he signed that deal here, the Red Sox wouldn't have been as likely to be able to absorb the back-end of the contract. The whining about Ellsbury is unfounded anyway. He's one month into his Yankee career, and JBJ is one month into his career period. Let's wait just a teeny bit.
  7. Don't predict Red Sox losses damn you!
  8. People can't have it both ways. They want sustained success but they also want the Sox to blow their load irresponsibly on Free Agents just to keep them away from the Yankees. That's not how it works.
  9. This doesn't make any sense at all. Overspending on a player whose main attribute is speed and has proven to be fragile over the years can't be justified just to keep him away from the Yankees. He's into month one of his contract. Your thinking is so short-sighted right now it's not even funny.
  10. Better pitch sequencing might have meant a longer stay on the mound, and maybe one or two less runs. Also, the D killed him as well. Your defense is as bad as the Sox' situational hitting.
  11. You should get banned indefinitely from the website for being a douche.
  12. Think about this for a second: Do you think that's a sound business model? That sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. Ben would be an idiot to start overpaying FA's to keep them from the Yankees. Besides, Ellsbury not being here is not the reason they're losing. The futility with RISP is a team-wide thing, so let's stop the chicken-s*** reactions.
  13. This is a dumb thing to say. 153 million for Ellsbury was not market price, it was a massive overpay. And all this crying for "market price" is what lead to the Crawford et al contract. Let them play it smart.
  14. If you were the Red Sox GM, would you have paid 153 million for him?
  15. Easy on the hyperbole.
  16. That was several shades of terrible right there.
  17. Second and third, no out, can't score a run. Unreal.
  18. Are they serious with this s***?
  19. Right down broadway. Swing the f***ing bat
  20. Bradley better make hard contact here
  21. AJ= Signing of the off-season
  22. That's why we Red Sox fans shouldn't despair
  23. Well apparently the Yankees pitching has cured all that ailed Myers huh Jacko?
