  1. I'm User Name?, and i approve this ^ post.
  2. It's like this is talksox university and i'm required reading to pass posting 101.
  3. Also, y'all need to learn the difference between an insult and refuting a post. I call out iortiz for not knowing what objectivity is (because he doesn't in this case) he calls me names and insults my baseball knowledge. If you don't understand the meaning of a word, well, you don't understand the meaning of a word. Two courses of action in that instance: A) Stop using the word. B ) Find out what it means and start using it correctly. Again, no one here is objective. It's a fact. We're not reinventing the wheel here.
  4. I don't have any bad blood with anyone. a700 hates me for some unknown reason, and iortiz has a thing for insulting other people then getting all pissy when you call him out regardless of the reason. Just stop taking yourself so seriously iortiz.
  5. Castrovince's note on the Sox by the way: Spot on if ya ask me.
  6. That's objective if you follow iortiz' reasoning remember?
  7. a700 won't let facts (and Bard being the one to suggest, and insist on, being a starter) let in the way of a good argument against the FO. I've come to believe he doesn't actually hate the FO that much, and simply writes up the illogical comments for the trolling factor.
  8. So you'd want fred to run this team? I cringe at the thought. Cringe, i tell ya.
  9. You shouldn't assume that! They don't have MBAs!
  10. Saying that the wild card inhibits player movement is flat-out incorrect. Look at the amount of high-end pitchers that moved in-season last year.
  11. That's what you get for having an iphone, you hipster.
  12. Actually, we are working on a rocket powered by donkey poop. Get your facts straight.
  13. Yes. But if Amaro keeps being unreasonable (and with his job in jeopardy after the FO restructure the Phillies are going through that is unlikely) then this whole scenario is moot.
  14. I'd rather risk the big hit for one year than 1-2 years of improductivity and dead money from Shields, or paying Scherzer until we land on the moon.
  15. ^ This. "Reasonable risk" is what i'm going for here.
  16. If they can get him at the TDL for cheaper and he's producing, i'd wait. Again, this is a scenario that depends on whether they actually need to make a move. For all we know, the rotation could be good and Owens could fill it out come mid-season.
  17. You can't say in the same breath that you don't expect Lee to stay healthy one season then say that you think the most overworked starter since 2007 will hold up through a 4-year deal. Be consistent.
  18. For one year and with this group? I see it.
  19. In what universe would Lee cost a top prospect, and how is a one year deal (albeit at a possibly very high price) comparable to a 4-year deal? That makes no sense.
  20. Except that that was the Sox' M.O when constructing their WS winning 2013 roster. Less years, more money. I believe they would bite if the prospect cost was low enough, meaning money would not be their issue.
  21. Buchholz is not the type to thrive under the pressure of increased expectations. I hope he proves me wrong.
  22. Yeah i'd do my best to not move position players for pitchers given the current run-suppressing environment.
  23. If the results are there, does it matter if he is?
  24. This is a point that has been brought up before, and that i think makes sense. One of the reasons i'm not up in arms about them not getting a pitcher, is that they just have so many options with moveable contracts and young, blocked talent that getting a pitcher mid-season from a team falling out of contention seems like a given if they were to need to make a move.
  25. No thanks on Ball or Rodriguez. But i see where you're coming from.
