    Check out my revised post. Cabrera was terrible, Castellanos was terrible, and the SS were below average. So yes, it was as bad as people think.

    Kinsler is not as good at 2B as Pedroia, and Craig is not the Red Sox' primary 1B, it is Mike Napoli who, surprisingly, has become a very good defensive 1B. Pedroia had an 18.3 UZR last year, Kinsler checked in at 13.0 (still pretty good). Napoli had a 5.0 UZR to Cabrera's -5.9. Panda "holding up" has nothing to do with Porcello's current production. As it stands right now, Sandoval (3.5 UZR) is a pretty good 3B.

    Romine had a -2.7 UZR. Suarez checked in at -0.1 They were below average defensively. Honestly, we're arguing for the sake of arguing. Point is, dude's been improving for a while, and there's reason for optimism that, even if he's not 2014 level, he's going to be a pretty good pitcher.

    Wasn't very good with runners on base. His improvement last year in LOB%%, BB/9 and HR/9 is part of the reason they gave him the extension. The hilarious thing is that (not saying you're doing this, just in general) is that the people whining about the extension are the same people who would have whined if he pitched well then left via FA. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

    I lived in Michigan for a significant portion of Porcello's Tigers career and watched a ton of his starts. Other than the stamina issue, I very much disagree with your assessment. Mostly on accounts of the bad D greatly affecting him more than Fister, who you unfairly used as a comparable. Fister isn't as extreme a groundball pitcher and generally had a better K rate. Porcello pretty much pitched below his peripherals on a yearly basis in Detroit, and there has to be a reason for that. Other than terrible defense, what exactly can logically be the reason for this anomaly? I'm not saying he's going to be a #1 here, but he'll certainly be better than solid.
