  1. No they don't. Who are these "endless Wakefield types"?
  2. If Masterson doesn't get his velocity back, he's done.
  3. Masterson's velocity is still very much diminished.
  4. It's pretty much the second week of his first year in the Majors......maybe, just maybe give him a little more time?
  5. Sooooo.....this team can hit.
  6. This is, again, a terrible interpretation of data using a laughable method. You are ignoring every other factor that may have contributed to Cespedes' "impact" on either team because it helps your viewpoint, yet you dare speak of bias. Your conclusions are laughable, and the method is too.
  7. This is a terrible cop-out. Also, the only thing you're proven is that you can't interpret data. Anecdotal evidence is not data, conflating subjects is not correct interpretation data, using subjective criteria is not correct interpretation of data. But hey, whatever helps you sleep at night.
  8. Someone quote this so a700hitter can see it: I've been in this league every year since 2010, and I've always paid a bit late because of issues with paypal, first when I moved from DR to US, and then when I moved from US to DR. I've always had to find someone to make the payments for me. However, I have managed to solve my paypal situation personally and should pay no later than 05/01. If that is a problem and my team would be frozen because of it, I would like to know beforehand so I can make arrangements through a third party, and get the payment in ASAP.
  9. Kimmi, I have to disagree with the premise that MLB players who can't handle pressure have been weeded out. If they had been, why is Clay Buchholz still in the league? (this is a joke btw)
  10. What you just said is that "clutch", by its given definition, doesn't actually exist. Wat?
  11. Your interpretation of the data in this case is terrible. Furthermore, HOF enshrinement is entirely subjective and should not be used as a basis to judge anything. You are trying to prove fire is bad by nuking an island. It's all over the place and not actually effective at proving your point.
  12. No, that's not what the data shows. That's what you interpret because it proves your point. The data shows a team-wide slump. Also, love this thread.
  13. Tanaka looks like s*** too.....but he's not letting them hang a 7-spot on him though.
  14. It's undeniable that some guys do choke though.

    Golf

Golf= Golfer vs ball. Baseball= Batter vs pitcher. There's a factor present in one that's not present in the other that's very important. The existence of the pitcher significantly muddies the waters. A perfectly executed sequence by a pitcher during an AB pretty much makes it impossible for a batter to succeed.
  16. Sometimes I don't know whether to love or hate this board....
  17. This is also a pretty good description.
