  1. One the major criticisms made against Bloom is that he "lacks a sense of urgency". In Tampa there are no fans holding Ray's management feet to the fire. Whether the Ray's win or lose the same 9000 fans show up. Any more than that are rooting for the visiting team.
  2. In your case, yes! No one reads your convoluted word salad epistles in their entirety.
  3. Not in your last run on sentence.
  4. I should have used he rather than you. However you being Moon's Sancho Panza it really makes no difference.
  5. Shaughnessey spends more time with Red Sox front office personnel than anyone here. You are in absolutely no position to make that claim with any degree of ontological certitude.
  6. Your last run on sentence which had more than 50 words did not begin nor contain the words "I think" or "my opinion" anywhere in it. Terrible composition on your part. I suggest you follow Cicero, Pascal and Mark Twain's advice on composition and syntax if you wish to write with clarity.
  7. Fair enough. However I think Shaughnessey represents the views of a majority of Sox fans including some within the Red Sox organization. My view is Henry's problem is not firing Bloom. That's easy. The real problem is if he does who can he get to replace him. Henry has created a situation where being Sox Chief of Baseball OPS is not as attractive job as it once was.
  8. And you know this because??
  9. As per usual you misconstrued the point I was making namely that Shaughnessey's point of view carries more weight in Boston than does yours or mine or anyone on this board. Red Sox front office personnel are aware of his. No one outside of the half dozen people who read this board are aware of yours or mine.
  10. Actually I think Reese McGuire has been his best pitching acquisition to date. Hey Bloom may try Barnes behind the plate next.
  11. That why Boston is the sports town that it is. Other than New York and perhaps Philly no town has the intensity for its pro teams as does Boston. If you do not like the intensity or personal vendettas you can alway delve into politics where everything is so genteel and civilized.
  12. While all this is very interesting to you Shaughnessy haters it does not change the fact that his peers gave him the highest recognition for his reporting nor does it change the fact that Shaughnessey has excellent sources within the Red Sox organization. Nor does it change the fact that more baseball fans trust his reporting on baseball matters than anyone who posts on an obscure baseball website. The bottom line of all this is when Shaughnessey makes comments like he did Henry et al are more likely to pay attention to it than anything anyone writes here. So deal with it.
  13. Non sequitur! Shaughnessy was recognized by his peers being given the highest award for baseball writing. By definition that makes him one of America's premier baseball writers. That fact that you do not care for him obviously carries no weight with anyone in the baseball writers community.
  14. Taylor Spink Award winner Baseball Hall of Fame, enough said.
  15. I think it would be a tough sell. Epstein would probably ask for more than Henry.would be prepared to give.
  16. Cora no way is GM material. My guess is if Henry believes the situation is really dire that he must fire Bloom now, he will turn to someone with s proven track record of success. He will make that person an offer that he can not refuse because Henry needs him that badly. There is only one person who comes to.mind. But he may not be willing to take the job unless his conditions were met. That person is.......Theo Epstein.
  17. Shaughnessey is one the best baseball writers in the country regardless of what you think. I suspect that his article reflects the perspective of a growing number of anti Bloomers within the Red Sox organization.
  18. If one reads between the lines, I think Dan Shaughnessy just joined the Fire Bloom Society in today's Globe.
  19. No. But I know Milford well. It is going through a renaissance.
  20. I am not. That was a sarcastic response.
  21. Yes l they should edit every non positive post.
  22. Yes it is about two hours from here.
  23. They sure are playing like world beaters aren't they?
