  1. A good Astros-Rangers rivalry could develop from this....but now we have to send Ellsbury out to that damn CF hill every year....I guarantee some player is gonna blow his knee out while running down a ball on that hill.
  2. Or they could release a hyena every third inning, that's an interesting gimmick.
  3. Glad to see they built a new stadium. I've no problem with renaming them "Miami"....but those uniforms....:thumbdown
  4. And that idiotic sloped center field "hill", is going to destroy someone's knee some day. Allowing ballparks to have all kinds of random field size configurations is unusual enough for a major sport, but to actually allow for a surface level change seems ridiculous, and dangerous, not to mention embarrassingly contrived. There should be a rule that mandates a level playing surface. Seems pretty reasonable, no?
  5. Have I missed something here? They moved the Brewers to the NL for numbers parity, right? So why an NL>AL shift back?
  6. I didn't know we were lacking in it...
  7. Word is Susan Wornock is the replacement
  8. From the Herald http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/red_sox/?p=6609&srvc=home&position=recent
  9. Is there a link to this trade scenario, or did you just make it up? :dunno:
  10. He's a Boras player, and was looking for a 4 year deal from Philly. He ain't coming here
  11. You'll NEVER walk alone
  12. Strange that it was Philly that came in for him. Seems like they have a logjam at the closer position already with Madson, Bastardo and Lidge...
  13. Meanwhile, in Liverpool, they are reportedly lining up superstar striker David Villa to sign from Barcelona..... Are we now beginning to see the conflict of interest?
  14. Well done, Red Sox. Way to get things started on a positive note.
  15. All-Stars.... http://www.sporcle.com/games/jackoman/soxallstars I got 15/22
  16. I'm not sure another Mystery Man is what we really need right now, but the Herald is saying we are looking at this guy- http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/red_sox/?p=6565&srvc=home&position=recent
  17. We went from Trot Nixon to JD Drew. They probably have similar numbers, and Drew was a better baserunner and fielder.....but who would you rather pick for your team?
  18. I'd be for it if he wore those bright colored suits in the dugout.
  19. Get him in there!
  20. Congrats to Pedey, Gonzo and Ells
  21. I know, do we really want another guy named Grady anywhere near our club? Nonetheless, Drew is gone, and now The Herald is saying we have interest in Sizemore: http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view/2011_1101sizemore_may_be_right_fit_oft-injured_free_agent_could_replace_drew/ He's still only 29, but he's fragile, and he'll be more expensive than Josh Reddick. I'm on the fence, to be honest.
  22. The Revolution have become probably the most irrelevant club in MLS, thanks to the Krafts not really giving a sh*t. In order for the Revolution to get out of the shadow of the Patriots, they need to literally get out of the shadow of the Patriots and play in their own 20,000 seat stadium. And they need to play in or very close to Boston. Eastie, Wonderland, maybe Suffolk Downs depending on how the casino thing plays out. I guess Assembly Square is not an option anymore...It would have been the perfect spot. Close to Boston, two interstates, an immigrant community, etc.... They need a smaller stadium filled to capacity, a way to carve out their own identity, and a way to build atmosphere. 13,000 Revs fans singing songs in a 65,000 stadium is just depressing. But God bless those diehards.
  23. It's a great trick question
