  1. Clearly a crushing outcome to a bizarre season. Plenty of disappointments. But a few bright spots which deserve mention, I think. Ellsbury- MVP caliber season. Who knew he could hit with such power? Dominant player. Aceves- A rock out of the pen Scutaro- Monster September, hopefully something that carries over Papi- Silenced his critics who said he was finished Salty- His bat came around eventually, plenty of promise going forward
  2. There was a scene in the dugout last year with Beltre that has always stuck in my mind. He had hit a home run, and some of the players were rubbing his head, and he kind of flung his body away with a real scowl on his face, as if to say "Get the **** off of me." I saw Youk look stunned. Strange moment.
  3. Ortiz is staying. He had a monster season, why let him go? It seems like Youk is breaking down, though. Tek and Wake look to be gone. Where was Tek for all of this mess? When the Captain goes AWOL, it's time for the captain to step aside. Lackey is clearly a liability on the mound, and a distraction off of it. I think they eat his contract.
  4. I think Beltre is all about Beltre, really. Good player, but if we're talking quality clubhouse guys, I think he's more like a JD Drew type of character.
  5. Well respected out of work GM who did an admirable job with limited resources in Toronto, with the added feel good local boy factor....no joke at all, especially considering Theo has lost the plot.
  6. I think it's time for Theo to clear out as well, to be honest. His colossal mistakes (Lackey, Drew, Dice-K, Revolving Shortstop, Crawford, Jenks, Gagne, etc.) have devastated the club at this point. Tito may have been right when he said the team needs a new voice. I think it needs a new GM, and Ricciardi did a great job with Toronto, AND he's a local boy. These bloated contracts to mediocre players are killing us. Ricciardi worked well on a tight budget. Think of what he can do with a little more spending power.
