It would seem that Swihart made a case for a trade in ST. Maybe the Sox wanted too much in return. Hard for me to imagine that teams were not interested. There are guys in this league that can't hit the side of a barn with a base fiddle! THAT is probably what happened because you won't convince that teams were not interested off Blake's spring.

As often as they are resting people, almost anywhere! He is not I repeat not a worse LFer than JD. He is still some sort of catcher and Leon hasn't hit his weight this year yet. If they were not resting people just way more than I expected this early in the season, maybe I could understand it. But they are resting guys constantly and still cannot seem to find a way to get Blake in games. Makes no sense. His bat will not be ready if we do in fact need it and that is the problem. That kinda' kills the "they like his bat" rational. Have you taken a look at Sandy's numbers lately?

Swihart has three hits in 18 PA's and 17 AB's out of what now....180 innings of baseball this team has played, 540 outs worth???? Forget it...they don't like him. They don't want him. Fine..whatever....but you will need that 25th man over a 162 game season way more than we are using Swihart. This during a period when they are resting everybody including the grounds crew if anything too often.

THEN LET HIM GO and put somebody in his spot on the bench that the coaching staff sees as more valuable. What they are doing with him makes no sense whatsoever. At this rate, if they ever actually need him somewhere it will take another spring training just to get up to speed.

What he did in this AB is not really the point. Why have they just let him rot on the bench. Even your normal 25th man gets more time than Blake has gotten. Just trade him for God sake.

Well thats his AB for the next 10 games. Given the amount of time regulars are being rested. there is simply no rational excuse for sitting Swihart for these long stretches. What do we expect him to do? They should just trade him if they are going to continue to do this to him. They have turned him into the 25th man and I just don't get that at all.

The LH hitters are doing nothing against Snell. I would expect less than nothing from Devers against him. Give me the Swihart matchup given what Snell is doing tonight. I seriously doubt Devers would have anything like a chance.

Should certainly pinch hit instead of Devers. Why does Devers have a bat when Swihart is just sitting there.

Snell has just buried the LH hitters tonight. Foul balls have been a victory.

The Rays might rue not having gotten anything out of that last string of 5 RH batters against Pom. That was their shot at putting this out of reach.

And while I am not the biggest Swihart fan in the world, that fact that he can't get into a lineup at all is baffling to me given how many guys are getting playing time. What did Swihart do, kick Cora's dog??? Did he kick Cora?

Yea I have resisted the temptation to comment with the exception of the early season two day rests for Mookie. But it is getting a little ridiculous now because we seem to be resting EVERYBODY all the time.

Pom has at least been competing in more of these AB's. But why he is here with so few tools at his disposal. I suppose you can make the case that its the Rays.

Going to be pure luck if Pom gets through this string of RH hitters without giving up runs. But he is almost there....ALMOST
