They have pumped a ton of money into that city over a very long period of time. Used to have to travel there for biz a good deal and though there were a few nasty spots, it was pretty nice. That was then...this is now I guess.
Funny thing about Sale is that last year and in years past when he would get into a funk he did not want to see the catcher out there...nor a coach. Now they really can't go out there. So Sale is probably happy about that. But he still at least IMO has to come up with a way to pull himself out of those things.
All that "THIS IS WAR" stuff is great except if Sale were actually in a real war he sort of can't let his emotions run away or they are scraping him up off the ground and returning him home in a ziplock bag......quart size.
Things go poorly for Sale so seldom that he does not seem to have a process for cooling off and getting back to business. Last year if things went down hill it usually turned into OH MY GOD before it was over.
This is a new Jerry this year on these defensive lapses. No longer do we get an analysis of what the fielder did wrong or how the error or mistake happened.
Its just "well I thought he would catch it" and then dead air until OB picks up the play by play again. Sorta' funny. NESN rules for sure.
Notice how many of our relief pitchers are fooling around with their release points and arm angle this year? Smith is doing it. Kimbrel is doing it. Really have not payed attention to the others as much yet. But those two are definitely into it. Maybe the changes in the coaching staff...just don't know. But those two at least are definitely fooling with their arm angles and release points.
Need to get him into a batting cage taking a ton of hacks. That swing may look pretty. But he is going nowhere with that if he doesn't get his hands back inside the baseball.
He really could be good for us if he is used right. Farrell had this tendency to treat certain guys like they were garbage and he used them like he did not care if their arms fell off. Hembree was one of those for Farrell. Not saying he is all world. but if Cora uses him right he can really help us.
I swear to God after the Manaea game the A's sent out Zeppelins and balloons with flyers being tossed off them that read, don't throw the Sox a FB if you can help it and never but never throw them a 0-0 meatball.
