You know I have lost interest when i am not tracking the opposing batting order. But Pom CANNOT be allowed to face a string of RH batters in this game. If anything like that is about to come to the plate, get him out or just give it up.

Actually the 0-0 pitch to Robinson should have been hit out and I didn't have the heart to say it.

If your argument is for Swihart, Cora has tons of opportunity to get Swihart in the lineup and won't do it for some reason. So I just don't think Vaz average is at the moment relevant to Swihart.

Boy since the word got out from the Manaea game, we are making decent pitchers look like rotation 1's and really good pitchers look like they are a lock for the Cy.

Pom's FB has been flat with nothing on it. His curve has only two or three times been as deep and as sharp as we are used to seeing it. If he can't do anything with those two pitches, Houdini could be catching and its not going to matter. At least Pom was able to compete in a couple of those AB's. So far he has not been able to complete in most of them. Some of the outs of the first 9 were pure luck.

What pitch is vaz supposed to call? Not sure pom has "The disappearing pitch". That is about the only one Pom is going to get past some of these hitters.

That was disappointing. We are not far from getting back to the top of the Rays order. Pom likely can't pitch like this a second time through unless he has a lamp with a couple wishes left in it.

See, all of twenty games or so and Cora tried to avoid Hembree and can't do it. Maybe still can if Barnes can get out of this.

This is why Hembree got overused last year. Glad Cora did not try him tonight. But on nights when he is not available even when Kelly is available, getting the ball to Kimbrel or to somebody for the 9th is a real struggle. You have to have enough of a lead once you start the process to still have one by the time we get to the 9th.

I think the Sox are going to have to do some shuffling around to make up for the Kelly suspension. Smith is still nowhere it seems.

Be interesting to see how Cora sequences these guys tonight. Hembree has pitched. Kimbrel has pitched and Kelly I think started his suspension tonight.

Change has been terrific tonight. That slider that has usually been ridiculous most of the time has been sort of "what was that" tonight.
