  1. Extremely weird play. Very strange game. I vote no more 4:00PM April starts. You would have thought we were playing in Salem and a witches coven had cursed this game.
  2. Hembree has not looked right the entire stint. Slider is just rolling up to home plate and he is trying to muscle up his FB.
  3. The 0-0 to Robertson was a nothing pitch. That should have been tagged and gone.
  4. Ramos exhausted from whacking the ball around fenway has to come out
  5. We are making a lotta' mistake pitches to these guys and they are not missing them. Pitching batting practice to Ramos and now to Gomez.
  6. Right now they need every body they can get. Holt out, Betts out, Pedey out, Kelly working off his suspension. I actually long for those long lost days when we did not carry so many relief pitchers. Manager has all of about two moves he can make through the course of a game and thats it unless he wants to use his backup catcher.
  7. We are probably lucky the score is not 24-23 with this ump. Is anything a strike?
  8. That is ball 4 twice today on balls at the top of the zone. Is this ump too short or something?
  9. Thanks for the jinx on Price OB
  10. I assume you are referring here to Cora's now discernible tendency to throw cold water on a guy just as he starts to heat up by sitting him.
  11. This is to me the toughest thing about having this many LH starters. This is a tough park for LHer's. Mistakes rocket out to that wall. Not sure we ever really appreciated what we had in Lester while he was here.
  12. They have given Ramos some nice pitches to hit this series so far. Hasn't missed them.
  13. If JBJ had just moved to the ball obliviously I would have given him an error even if he did not touch it. But he hung right as long as he could and it still was spinning so hard that it took off even farther right.
  14. Really strange April late day sun. The shadows have just hung right around home plate for an hour. Haven't really moved.
  15. Lousy call....hopefully changed
  16. Strange bounce. JBJ was trying to hang to his right sensing it was going to spin that way.
  17. This guy can't find the plate and looks like a cement mixer throwing a baseball right now.
  18. Nice swing beni. Has at least taken better swings last couple of games
  19. Price should learn from the pitchers that have been facing us. Get me over 0-0 pitches not such a great idea.
  20. I just don't see the rational for trading JBJ especially from fans. He is one of the most enigmatic players on this team, a wonder in the field that goes through hot streaks that are crazy hot and cold streaks that are crazy cold at the plate. But we have already suffered through the worst we are ever going to see from JBJ at the plate, back in 2014 and we kept him. So what are we talkin' about. I don't know why we are not just enjoying the guy especially playing on a team that has gotten off to such a good start. Least we forget, they are all struggling a bit at the plate since the Manaea game. They are not as good as they were before that game and they are not as bad as they have sometimes looked since. The league adjusted. The team has to adjust to the league adjusting and it will go on like that for another 140 games or so.
  21. Well before we forget....Blake is a terrible defensive catcher. They converted him during the tail end of the period when MLB was desperate for catchers and they were trying to convert anybody that did not have a solid position in the field. Sort of makes you wonder if they would have tried Devers there if he came along at the tail end of that same period, because they were trying everybody and Devers sure is no 3rd baseman yet. But that is neither here nor there. What they are doing with Blake makes no sense at all. He is not worse than JD in LF, probably not worse than JD in RF. Probably worse than Devers at 3rd although that is hard to imagine lately. But if they are not able to find him AB's AT ANY POSITION during a period where they seem to find every tom dick and larry reason under the sun to rest guys, it says to me they flat don't like him but very likely asked too much in return for him when teams came calling after the Spring he put together. Blake probably knows that is what happened and feels like he got screwed again. However, it is the organization's responsibility to try to make the best of what looks like a bad situation with Blake even if that means taking little in return for him and opening the spot for somebody they like better. It is their team and their organization. How does it make sense to do this with a player in their organization that Oh by the way happens to be on their 25 man. It is hard to imagine the Sox like anybody less than they appear to like Blake!
