  1. Too many centuries of losing to the Yankees. If a race horse gets used to being beaten that is all he ever does. I just think the twins see those Yankee unis coming and fold up like a cheap suit.
  2. Oh come on Hanley. You telling me you did not know the count. Geez I would definitely start throwing stuff in the clubhouse.
  3. Beni has let that swing get waaaaaay too big on him. Hands are way outside the baseball.
  4. Sorta' funny...we are waiting through 7 batters to get to Brock and Mookie.
  5. What do they know? Wait till Lurch breaks through a wall and they are spreading his ashes over Yankee stadium. The tears will make a new river in the Bronx.
  6. A baseball team, especially a baseball team is never really as good as they can look nor as bad as they can look. That is why the only way to really get under my skin is to play mindlessly...just drifting out there on the diamond. For those of us that have played multiple sports, you can literally get killed out there playing football doing that. Baseball...not so much and players can just fall into that at times.
  7. I am fine with almost anything a baseball team does. But,they are playing mindless baseball right now and that one does get to me. Nunez is just asleep out there for one and if he is not helping us with hustle and being totally into the game, he is not helping us. Devers is.... well young. Beni is lost. Even Vaz seems a bit oblivious and I cannot tolerate Sandy at the moment. Could be worse. We could be watching the Bruins
  8. I know or at least I think I know Cora is not that sort of guy. But if it were me I would start throwing stuff around the clubhouse. Time for a good Manager's uprising.....just for fun.
  9. Watching this team field right now is like Chinese Water torture. Drip drip drip
  10. Love seeing eddie get outs on batted balls. If he would just learn to trust his stuff more, he would be a much better pitcher than he has shown.
  11. That is only partially funny. I am guessing that if we did look, the all time record between them is likely something like 8 million wins to 400 wins. I leave it to the audience to figure out which team has the 8 million wins.
  12. What are the odds that we would have heard the Bronx cheer for our 3rd base coach for holding vaz at 3rd on that fly to right after last night if we were home? I am guessing pretty good!
  13. Maybe this gets us going
  14. Man we have seen a lotta' that for so early in the season. 2 seamers that just keep riding inside to our RH hitters.
  15. This is a good spot for Vaz considering the way he has developed as a hitter
  16. Pitchers have been junking us to death since that 2nd game in Oakland.
  17. He is physically capable. Plays like that prove it. But the routine plays are a real problem for Rafe. Any play where he has time to screw it up, he has a tendency to screw it up.....except throwing where one of his flaws is that he often double pumps throws that other 3rd basemen don't have to double pump. Not sure what that is about.
  18. Cora should be able to help. But it is also going to take Rafe taking thousands of grounders and making thousands of throws. Cora is not a magician and Rafe's issues at 3rd are ingrained. Bad habits have to be broken.
  19. My previous comments were not to imply that Devers ability to catch it is that great. Notice that instead of getting down with his glove and coming up for the hop, he was up with his glove and stabbed down at the ball. That is a cardinal sin of infield play and Rafe makes that particular mistake over and over again. He has so much work to do if he is going to stay at 3rd for any length of time and yes, when you consider how little Moose drew for money, he would sure have looked good in a Red Sox uni. The Sox could have groomed Rafi for 1st or at least taken the pressure off of him at 3rd.
  20. He has so far never IMO shown that he can throw from 3rd consistently. From the moment the ball hits his glove and assuming it sticks there (which is not really his problem) the rest becomes an adventure. Either he screws up the transition out of the glove or screws up the footwork into the throw or just flat blows the throw especially to anyplace other than 1st base and even 1st is a challenge. All I can say for his throwing from 3rd is that I would hate to have to remember what I was doing at his age. Maybe its gets better. But it is going to have to get a bunch better, not just a little.
  21. Devers has made and will make I guess for a time every single kind of throwing mistake a 3rd baseman can make.
  22. Gotta move faster than that defensively around the bases Nunny. It might be awhile before Nunny is the player he was before the knee. Can't tell because he has never been much of a defender.
  23. Considering how much faster the ball travels than the runner, the ball would have needed to be thrown into the dugout for Nunny to have scored on that. Hitting the cutoff man, hitting any cutoff man, even bounding into home plate and Nunny was out. Not even close.
  24. Before I forget, i thought the golden rule of baseball forums was that obvious trolls stayed out of game threads.
