I meant that he had no chance of having any of the rulings overturned that caused him to play under protest. He says he doesn't have any actual evidence, just rumors. Then he goes to the press and tells them he thinks the Jays are stealing signs. I just think he's making excuses for his starters.

Assuming both Lester and Beckett return with no lingering affects, our rotation will sill consist of Lackey, Miller and Wakefield. And that's the best case scenario for the next month or so.

Francona's always been a guy who has managed for the long haul during the regular season and gives every opportunity for starters to work things out before pulling them in an attempt to preserve the bullpen. I think it would be difficult to think of many bad bullpen moves he's made in the postseason.

I've read all the stories. None of them state that anyone is forcing Wilpon to sell the team. But you already know that.

No one's saying you made up the fact that Wilpon's in financial distress. I've said that everyone knows he's in financial distress so that couldn't be any more of a straw man. I'm saying that your claim of there being a bunch of stories about Wilpon being forced to sell the team is untrue. I know it's untrue because I've been following the story since it became news. Is it really this painful to admit you made a minor mistake?

I'd make Miller back into a reliever and cut him if he doesn't earn a spot in the bullpen. Wakefield is a better major league starter than him.
