  1. 1 good year? Is there a CJ Wilson other than the Rangers #2 starter last year?
  2. There's a policy that starters who pitch the day before the All-Star break are not allowed to pitch in the All-Star game. That's why Sabathia and many other equally deserving starters were not named.
  3. Why fill right field internally with one of the hottest hitters in baseball when we can pay $6 million and a couple prospects more to get a brand name who will walk at the end of the year?
  4. This should allow us to put a few more games between us and the Yankees by September. A-Rod's been the Yankees second most valuable player this year and I can't believe I'm going to say this but Nunez is as big a downgrade defensively than he is offensively.
  5. They're right about Miller. There's no way Miller's going to pitch effectively if he continues to allow this many baserunners and strike out so few batters. That's what I was saying when he was getting good results as far as runs scored. It's possible that Miller's simply nervous about getting another chance at the big leagues and over time he will get his walks down and his strikes up like they were in AAA. But I wouldn't count on it. I'm really hoping to see Weiland's major league debut on Sunday. With is 3.00 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 9.6 K/9, he deserves a chance over a washed up Millwood.
  6. Ahhh, first place. I'll be catching the next 3 in person at Fenway. Have a great weekend everyone!
  7. Farnsworth shuts the door on the Yankees and the Red Sox are half an inning away from having the best record in the AL with 3/5ths of their rotation on the DL.
  8. I miss the coke bottle. That always made it easy to judge just how far a righthander crushed the ball over the wall.
  9. After tonight there's a good chance we'll be first in the majors in runs, hits, doubles, AVG, OBP, SLG and OPS.
  10. lol, who said that?
  11. Go for the Chase Wright!
  12. Hopefully that will get Reddick out of his minislump.
  13. Fortunately, when our offense puts up 7+ runs it won't matter who we have on the hill... as long as it isn't Lackey.
  14. I'm guessing they go with Millwood. Then once everyone sees that he's become a junkballer with a fastball in the 80's people will stop asking for him to be called up.
  15. That's more like what I expected from Miller with all the baserunners he allows.
  16. This is a Red Sox forum, right?
  17. I can't wait until Youkilis gets back to his .950 OPS self.
  18. Colon has a history of being a comically bad major league pitcher since 2006. Maybe he's found something and turned a corner, maybe he hasn't. Either way, is it really worth getting butthurt over an 11 start track record?
  19. He's getting awfully butthurt for a Yankees fan who just said the same thing about a Red Sox pitcher on a Red Sox forum.
  20. Aaron Small had a similarly extensive "track record" of success in 2005.
  21. That's not fair! Miller's been ineffective since 2006 and Colon's been... oh wait.
  22. Track record before or after 2006?
  23. Colon has dominantly allowed 13 baserunners and 5 ER through 5 innings with his low 90's fastball.
  24. The wheels have really fallen off on Colon. 13 baserunners in less than 5 innings and a mid 90's fastball. It looks like he's just slinging the ball up there.
