I agree, Papelbon is a pain in the ass. But I'd rather have a closer that doesn't make it look pretty and has only blown one save than a closer that makes it look easy and has blown 4 saves. I'm looking at you Mo. We have yet to lose a game in which we had a lead after 8.

According to Gameday Hughes fastball averaged less than 90 mph in his first two innings which compromised his first 42 pitches. It wasn't a matter of him tiring as his pitch count rose.

Wakefield's WHIP is .21 points lower than Miller's. And Miller's WHIP is identical to Matsuzaka's this year. It's only a matter of time before he ether makes a major adjustment or becomes very disappointing.
