  1. It's fitting that's how the inning started given how lucky Garcia's been.
  2. The worst trolls are the ones who dish it out then act all butthurt and play the victim when they get stuff dished back at them.
  3. Isn't that calling the kettle black. Were you in a black out when you came into this thread to post a picture reading "Human Growth Hormone" and started the back and forth?
  4. What a terrible AB by Cano with Teixeira sitting on second. Price threw a fastball up out of the zone and Cano swung and missed. Price threw a fastball even more up and out of the zone and Cano swung and missed. Price threw a fastball even more up and out of the zone and Cano swung and struck out on 3 pitches nowhere near the strike zone. Garcia has 1 ground ball out through 5, time for the Rays to cash in.
  5. Can't wait to hear how it's unfair that Manny and Ortiz beat Giambi, A-Rod and Sheffield.
  6. Martin gift wraps a DP. How long before he's below .200? April - .292/.378/.597 May - .200/.333/.347 June - .185/.274/.241 July - .170/.264/.234
  7. This is why when a psychologist holds up a picture of a Yankees fan the first words that come to mind are never "polite" or "humble".
  8. The Mets are definitely going to get a blue chip prospect in return for Beltran. He's the best hitter available on the market and the draft pick compensation is way overblown considering he may not even be a Type A.
  9. I'm sure plenty more than just them were juicing and I'm sure plenty of members of all the teams they faced were using the same stuff.
  10. A lot of players begin to hit for more power in their late 20's.
  11. I would rather keep a .250 hitter with 20+ home runs and above average defense for a few years than give up one or two of our best prospects for a few months of Beltran.
  12. Buchholz will throw off a mound Friday. That will be a very important throwing session. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110719&content_id=21999518&notebook_id=21999522&vkey=notebook_bos&c_id=bos
  13. There's no way in hell the Yankees were going to use Posada and Cervelli as their major league catchers this year. There's a much better chance that they would have traded for a Miguel Montero or a Chris Ianetta, both of whom are having better years than Martin.
  14. There are much more effective ways to improve an offense than sitting a .367/.418/.671 hitter for a .293/.389/.523 one.
  15. Jarrod Saltalamaccia is more than an average major league catcher at best. And at age 26, he has plenty of room for improvement.
  16. No, no, you've got it all wrong. A catcher with an OPS that's .078 points above league average is clearly an ineffective and malodorous.
  17. If Ellsbury continues to play good defense, we will extend him. The largest issue we had with him going into last year was his sub-par defense in 2009.
  18. John Lackey won a Cy Young. Does he not stink?
  19. If we need to trade for an additional hitter for when/if Ortiz sits in the World Series, wouldn't it make sense to address a position where we don't already have someone hitting .367/.418/.671?
  20. Scutaro's been a good defensive shortstop most of the year. He's been dealing with a minor finger issue the last week or so that's affected some of his throws but it isn't reported to be anything serious.
  21. His .737 OPS this month is even better than his OPS on the season.
