  1. That's life in a 2020 COVID bubble. At least the same can be said for everybody else (or can it? I don't have the schedule in front of me)
  2. Momentum is only as good as the next night's starting pitcher. But yes, the Yankees are the better team. No doubt about it. Keep Sanchez on the bench
  3. Nothing like a 9 year bump on an introductions thread
  4. Was Pearce a free agent as well? Or was he part of a trade? Quite literally wouldn't have a ring without the WS MVP
  5. I can agree with that. A bunch of obscenities and evil looks were thrown my way walking into Yankee Stadium as a 12 year old. Shockingly, when I went there in 2019, everybody was chill
  6. I keep forgetting you're an SC fan. If you lived out there, I was going to ask if you ever saw Lori Laughlin at games
  7. That's called the Lane Kiffin treatment https://www.businessinsider.com/usc-fired-coach-lane-kiffin-on-plane-2013-9#:~:text=USC%20Fires%20Coach%20Lane%20Kiffin,Night%20After%20A%20Blowout%20Loss&text=AP%20The%20USC%20Trojans%20fired,was%20told%20when%20he%20landed.
  8. Well, I stand corrected I know I would miss being at ballparks permanently, but travelling isn't such a strain on my health
  9. Wait they fired Moon?
  10. Also, he didn't have to play the race card. It drives me crazy when people play the race card for everything, especially for things that clearly didn't happen because of someone's race
  11. I will never sit up there if I can help it. When I took a tour of Fenway years ago, they told us that they usually get a couple of broken noses per year. And that's just from balls hit up there, not to mention bar fights that break out. It's basically one big Irish pub up there
  12. Only thing sadder than that is the fact that I'm still 5'8"
  13. I really hope there are fans in the stands next year. I liked empty ballparks more than I thought, but it's not the same. But, if there are fans in the seats next year, I have a huge decision to make.
  14. Plus he isn't Glasnow's size. I was 5'8" when I was 12, and I didn't pitch much, but when I did, they told me to wear my pants up, because showing your socks makes you look even taller and more intimidating
  15. You must have really loved baseball in the 1960s
  16. Your first two points are fair points. But, as for the last one, are you saying he shouldn't have gone after A-Rod? As a catcher, there's not much he could have done differently in that situation. I suppose he could have gone after him while he was hitting, so he wouldn't have his gear on. Hit a HR and then punch A-Rod while rounding third base. Is that what you're saying? That he picked the wrong situation to do it in?
  17. I feel like over time, he will prove to have Big Dick Rick syndrome
  18. Yeah, well I haven't. I've switched to football, or do I have to wait until the end of the World Series?
  19. The only thing about that quote that I dispute is the fact that we are not that far away from contending
  20. What happens when we don't hear that name?
  21. Yes, how could I forget about Wakefield's personal catcher
  22. I agree with you, I was just throwing that question out there. I can see it going either way. I wish the current managerial transition lined up better with Tek's development as a coach. Catchers do make fantastic managers, however. Joe Girardi and Mike Matheny come to mind. He would be great at developing our young pitchers, so I think he merits some consideration. The Cubs hired Ross without any prior coaching experience, and that's worked out pretty well for them. I know our players would love playing for Tek, just as they do in Chicago
  23. Is it too early for Varitek to be manager?
  24. Likewise, the Marlins would probably be near or under .500 in a 162 season, and the Astros would likely get back over .500. Also, the Dodgers were on pace to win 116 games.
  25. I have family in NE Ohio that are long suffering Guardians and Browns fans, so I will be doing my best John Adams impression and banging that drum for the next three days or so.
