  1. I like these series gamethreads. We got our ass kicked last night and it's still my mojo. Of course, that could end up being a bad thing...
  2. I don't care how you feel about somebody, you have to respect them if they work hard and show grit and determination. Newton is definitely one of those guys. Most teams counted him out after the surgery. He proved them wrong. That's what sports is all about. I respect that. I agree, it's more fun to beat the teams you hate when those teams are good. The Pats win against the Bills to clinch the AFC East last year was extra satisfying, but Swiharts Ghost probably thought it was lame because the Pats only won by 6 and looked "soft." I don't hate the Raptors, but it was more fun to beat them in 7 hard fought games than it would have been if OG Anunoby's prayer hadn't gone in to win game 3. I;m assuming the Celtics would have won in 4 or 5 if that shot didn't drop, and while that would have been less strain on my nerves, it also wouldn't have felt as rewarding. You gotta love the dogfight, because you appreciate the outcome more, no matter who wins.
  3. Upload it to YouTube as private to anybody that doesn't have the URL and then share the URL with us.
  4. I think crazy is a bad word choice. What's crazy about it? The fact that's it's different? Who cares? This whole year is different
  5. Sorry, I shave every other night. Shut down the photo ops that way
  6. The pride of my high school hit his 100th career HR earlier this afternoon. During my freshman year, we wore the old varsity jerseys from when he was on the team, and I wore his current jersey number. I don't know for sure, but if he wore the same number in HS, then I wore his old jersey.
  7. You should see me when I try to grow facial hair
  8. I can tell you're gonna get a lot of mileage out of that one
  9. Let's go Kickham in the nards and win another one!
  10. He's a really great defensive player 6 days a week
  11. I would give him a shot
  12. Lol @Clippers. Choking in the postseason must be an LA thing. Go join the Dodgers in the pit of misery
  13. It was definitely easier in the spring, because most professors kind of gave up once we got sent home, but there's definitely worse situations to be in right now. I'm a straight A student in a stable home with a job waiting for me after graduation (that won't be impacted by COVID). It's all about perspective
  14. Definitely. Not like we have much to lose
  15. You're the kind of sports fan that I despise
  16. Everything about it is manageable. I kind of like it actually. I pick when I work on stuff, and I can take a break to watch a quick TV show or go to the gym or something. The only negative that is prevalent is the loneliness. There's days where I don't talk to anybody face to face, other than my parents. Not all days are like that though
  17. Wow JBJ! Is it just me or has the pitching been moderately better over the last week or so?
  18. I'll be your friend! Going to school online from home is quite lonely
  19. Lol these gamethreads have turned into gamethreads for literally every other game except the Red Sox game
  20. I must have missed that! Who picked him up?
  21. I meant that more from a standpoint of the people and the food. I was also there for Super Bowl Weekend, so they were definitely showcasing themselves in the best possible light
  22. Too bad none of it will matter if he sucks
  23. I would imagine that includes Derek Jeter
  24. Making one GT for the entire series. Let's try this out. Kimmi and MVP have been calling for it for some time. If we win the series, I'll do the GT for the next series. By the end of this week, Miami and Boston are going to be sick of each other. The Dolphins just played the Patriots on Sunday, and the Heat and Celtics begin their Eastern Conference Finals series tonight. And then, much lower on the totem pole, you have these two. I was in Miami for the first time in February, and it's a really special city. I'll give them that much.
  25. Yesterday's was pretty special. Alec Mills wasn't even recruited at UT-Martin. He just happened to decide to go to school there, then walked by the pitching coach one day at practice and told him he thought he was good enough to pitch on their team. Then he's a mid-20th round pick. If I'm that coach, I ignore him. How many kids walk up to practice and tell you they should be playing on your team. Kudos to him for hearing him out and giving him a try out.
