  1. Last time we signed a guy we traded away as a prospect, it didn't end well
  2. *Cough* football *cough*
  3. What's even more random is the fact that they've never lost a postseason series. That's amazing
  4. The Marlins
  5. On an unrelated note, Lester has been in the league forever. I remember his no hitter. How in the hell was that 12 years ago? He's only 36. Not bad for somebody who entered the league in 2006
  6. Well clearly I'm not one of them
  7. Because we aren't allowed to have nice things
  8. Yeah Odor is a bitch. I have no problem with Bautista's bat flip. Go ahead HR in game 5 for a team that hadn't won a playoff series in years. If you're on the road, maybe you don't do that, but when you're in front of the home crowd, go nuts. Odor was at fault there
  9. I like them as well. Nothing wrong with showing off if you back it up in my book
  10. I think it would have been interesting to watch them play the Dodgers with fans in the stadium. Imagine doing that against your arch, but more like one sided over the last 15 years or so, rival
  11. Looks like it'll be another 120 years before they get a chance to win one
  12. He had one bad night. 16 for 16 in the regular season. Yankees are the best offense in the league when they get going. It happens. Don't let your hatred of the Yankees derange your logic and thinking.
  13. Some of you are probably upset at the outcome, but that looked like a fun game to watch last night
  14. Oh stop whining. You'll be fine
  15. Brantley isn't exactly a spring chicken. Not the kind of guy I would target for a rebuild. And if you were to correctly predict those trades after correctly predicting who we hire as manager, I'm bringing you to the betting window for next year's Kentucky Derby
  16. Brings me back to AP Stats... Bad memories. I had it two periods after AP Calc. I loved Calc much more. Stats is more like English. Anything can be right if you explain it. I don't like that.
  17. But, it begs the question: Would you rather make the postseason every year and never advance, or make it once every 10 years or so and get to/win the World Series? Red Sox have been kind of on that track recently. In the last 10 seasons, we've been: Last 3rd WS Champs ALDS ALDS Last Last WS Champs Last Choked away the WC But, I was thinking more along the lines of the Marlins or Padres. They don't make it often, but when they do, they seem to have a legit chance.
  18. Trevor Bauer is good. That is all
  19. I didn't say I remembered that game, or even that series. LOL
  20. Hell, even I remember him, and I turned 6 during the 04 ALCS
  21. If we go with Quatraro, do we have to wait until the Rays are done playing this season to announce him? There's a rule like that in the NFL
  22. Don't give him the satisfaction. He doesn't need the ego boost. Act surprised when he gets hired
  23. But if anybody in the world deserves a cheap shot, it's A-Rod
  24. Eh, this is one year that I wouldn't mind seeing the Yankees. I have a dear friend who has been having a rough time recently, and he is a Yankees fan. He loves sports so much, and like so many, uses them as his medicine. He got so happy when the Steelers won their first two (now 3) games, so it would be nice to see the Yankees win it all. He's had problems with depression and suicidal thoughts before. Just another product of where I grew up, in a state equal parts Red Sox and Yankees fans
