  1. And, until last week, the only one with any real postseason success for the last decade
  2. They need to get rid of Steve Donahue first
  3. Any WNBA team that does not have any former UConn players on its roster does not deserve to even be mentioned. I don't hate them though
  4. I don't think we should go after Yaz just because of his last name. I don't know if he's a fit for us
  5. First of all, it's gangrene Second of all, Gang Green used to be (and might still be) a nickname for the Jets. I think being affiliated with that Gang Green worse than being affiliated with the disease
  6. LA teams I don't hate: Rams Chargers Angels Dodgers Lakers Clippers Kings Galaxy LA FC Love > Hate
  7. R-E-L-A-X Especially with the Astros. Not like anybody ever comes back from 3-0 Oh wait...
  8. Life goals^
  9. If you grab a pool of water from the Connecticut River, it's like a mystery bag. You don't know what you're gonna get, but it should suffice for these purposes
  10. Well then he's overrated by every city in the US except Anaheim. All I hear is that he's the best player ever. If he's that good, they should be a perennial playoff team. Not necessarily a perennial contender, but at least always in the hunt for the Wild Card. You can ride one really good player to a record of .500 or marginally better.
  11. I would do whatever it takes to make that work. Pollock went to my HS, and my coach was also his coach. I believe he grew up a Red Sox fan as well, but I may be wrong. It's hard to tell in CT. OMG now I'm all excited. If this doesn't happen, I'm feeding you to a pool of piranhas
  12. I've always thought Mike Trout was overrated
  13. This post is overrated.
  14. I like the idea, especially in an age where people get bored with baseball for a medley of reasons. Make the games shorter and reduce the amount of time you run into football season each year.
  15. If we're talking dirty, Sunday doubleheaders are popular in college. In fact, I missed the ending to the 2018 Pats-Dolphins game, now known as the Miami Miracle, because I was partaking in Game 2 of my own doubleheader. Didn't even have home bed advantage hehe
  16. Not necessarily what I was referring to with Sale, but I don't disagree. Just IMO, neither one strikes me as somebody I'd get a beer with, if that was something I did. If he signs here, whatever. I'm fine with it. I don't like to complain. I'm just not salivating over him like others here are at the moment. I don't think he's an essential component of our potential future success
  17. At this point, it's pretty obvious that the Rays won that trade. I haven't heard anything from Archer in a few years now.
  18. All I know is that I don't really want him to sign here. I don't have anything against his game, he just rubs me the wrong way. Said the same thing about Sale and my feelings have changed a little as I've gotten to know him, so I'm open-minded. But if we hire Cora it won't matter because I won't watch a single Red Sox game until Cora is no longer manager.
  19. Yeah I've always wondered the same thing
  20. Happened to the Braves last year as well. I think that was an elimination game in the NLDS too. That's brutal. At least they still lead this series
  21. I'll admit it - I haven't watched that much baseball this year. In fact, hardly any at all. But it seems to me like the Rays are a personification of the old mantra "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." And I am loving that, because I live my life by a similar code. It's like the Rays are the working class American that finally gets a big break
  22. I pray for him. I hope it's not the dreaded yips. I recently went threw the yips in golf, and it's the worst feeling I've ever had in a sport, and this was on an infinitely smaller scale. I am currently reading Rick Ankiel's memoir on handling the yips. It has the capacity to end anybody's career, no matter how successful/promising. Great read if anybody is interested
  23. Can the Tampa Bay Rays actually sweep the Astros? Wow. I think so. It will certainly make me feel better about 2008. I don't think this Rays team is nearly as good as the 08 team, but with the 60 game sample size, it's hard to tell
  24. Just that your in game commentary is usually more critical than it is positive. Just a joke
  25. Wow, never seen you compliment anybody before
