  1. You're wrong The last two years when I worked in football, our training camp practices began the first day of August. That's really when football season starts. I was working that job in 2018 as well. It's not like I stopped watching the Sox that year, but my priorities shift a little
  2. Well to be fair, I stop caring in September every year, no matter how we're doing. But this football season, we also have the Celtics in the Conference Finals, and the US Open in golf next week, so there's just more things that I want to watch. Every Red Sox fan that is a fan of other sports has no shortage in finding other things to watch
  3. Hey look we won! That is all.
  4. That's debatable. There was a DB for Oregon last year (not sure if he graduated or not) named Brady Breeze. I wonder if his family named him after two of the three greatest QBs of my generation on purpose. The QB for Indiana, who I got to watch in person, as we played them in Bloomington last year, is named Peyton Ramsey, with a brother named Montana. Not very subtle.
  5. Not a baseball name, but I'm watching college football today, and UNC has a DB named Storm Duck. That's legendary. If only he played for Oregon
  6. I agree. When we play the Astros, I'm hoping Springer goes 5 for 5 with 5 HRs, but I'm also hoping the rest of the team goes hitless and we win 10-5 or something like that.
  7. Patriots and Jets, with a little dose of Giants. I live in an area where you can get all 3 on TV most weeks, so my dad and I always watched all 3 every week. Football is both of our favorite sports. I also like a lot of different players, but many people don't understand that you can love a player without being a fan of that team.
  8. Don't really watch the NBA enough to have a favorite team, but I root for Boston, Houston and OKC
  9. Are you high? Losing to the defending champs in 7 hard fought, physical games without one of your best players would be nothing to be ashamed of
  10. I don't really either, but since I'm moving to Boston, I thought I might as well start drinking the Kool-Aid
  11. It's weird, but I almost want the Celtics to lose. It's hard to keep track of so many sports at once.
  12. I don't know, this strategic management I'm studying right now is pretty riveting
  13. Orioles are probably kicking themselves about Opening Night
  14. The one bad thing about beating the Rays is that it helps the Yankees
  15. Welcome to football season
  16. Welcome back Spud
  17. Won't have OB on the call tonight. He's doing football on ACC Network
  18. I would have a field day with that. I love analyzing announcers. Not just for baseball
  19. Just think about the fact that the Marlins lost by 20 last night. You score 9 runs, a pretty good night from your own offense, and lose by 20. The Tigers losing by 19 is a different story. They got 2 hit and just s*** the bed. I would rather have a night where everything goes wrong, lose 19-0 and get it out of my system, than hit the ball pretty well, score 9, but not be able to stop grandma from hitting dingers on the other side.
  20. Clearly you didn't just watch that game because if you had, you would not come to that conclusion. You're the one that's soft. You rage quit this place 3x a week
  21. Let's Go O's!!!! Let's Go O's!!!! Let's Go O's!!!! They got a big week ahead of them. 1-0 so far in their stretch of 6 consecutive games in NYC
  22. Matt Barnes makes me ashamed to go to UConn
  23. Would love to give Girardi nightmares a couple more times. I will never forget his hissy fit after Dempster threw at A-Rod
  24. Rick Porcello was for us for most of the last 2 seasons, and he hasn't exactly been unhittable with the Mets. The sinker is a high risk, high reward pitch. If it's working, it can carry you to the Cy Young. If it's not working, and you can't fix it, you'll be out of the league in a couple years
  25. Have you seen Luke Voit recently? I don't think there's anything secret about it
