  1. agree. The thing Jung is that at least one of our top 3 will likely go to the DL next year, regardless Bard will make his debut as a SP and the #5 is still a mystery. if this is true and Bard shits the bed, this #4 becomes very important. I think that this is the reason why this SP is becoming the center of our universe.
  2. It's funny, Pal says that we're under the cap. Seems like this is a mystery too.
  3. According with WEII, he is out of our list.
  4. Subtract another Big fish from the list. Seems like Oswalt is the only option available.
  5. I want to know the details of the contract.
  6. Wait... are we already 6-8 over the cap? I thought that we were under the cap. If we are already over the cap I'll sign Madsen (+- 10M/3yrs) and Kuroda (12 M/1Y), right away.
  7. You're welcome Jung. If this true (Kuroda out of the list), I don't see Boston giving Jackson a 5yr-contract. Oswalt surly is asking something around Kuroda's money/year. Madsen is the other option, but I don't want to see him as a starter. If they make a move, now is the moment. Remember that NY needs a pitcher too. The money won't be an issue for them, and Kuroda seems to be the best option out there.
  8. I wonder if "M_ _ _ y B _ _ l" term can be used partially (one or few positions) in order to rebuild a team. ORS said that you can use that approach in order to rebuild a team.
  9. Yup, Reason why Pumpsie's theory could make sense if we do not sign anyone else. Nevertheless I will be pissed off if we don't make the POs, again.
  10. where's your sense of humor? Cmon!
  11. I think that all of us should move on. As A700 and I said, Cubs won't go anywhere like this. You and others say that they are in rebuild mode, fine. I said that they are using some "moneyball" concepts to fill some positions in order to face 2012 season and maybe beyond. You say that all their moves looks like short-term stop-gaps, fine. It's all about opinion. No big deal.
  12. Bingo. I agree with you ORS. IMO he has already started the process and have used this approach in order to fill some positions. On the other hand and as I said, maybe he will be more cautious at FA. Seems like he has been, thus far (at FA).
  13. Exactly, They need to get rid of all their bad players and bad contracts and eventually make a huge splash or two to add the players who can put them over the top. Jenks, Lackey, D-K and certainly Crawford (I think he will comeback, He better) are clogging your payroll in order to bring the SP and BP arms, aren't they?.
  14. I think that Pumpsie thinks that the Red Sox should do the same. We need to clean up the mess that Theo (Some say LL or a mix) left (FA signings). Maybe Theo has learned the lesson reason why he has been very cautious with the Cubs (at FA) or simply Cubs owners didn't want to open their wallet after seeing the mess he left in Boston. We'll never know. We'll see.
