  1. From what I read Theo is asking gold for Garza. If we get Garza be prepared to lose some of your higher end depth prospects. I like Garza, but I want to keep those names you mentioned, specially Kalish and Lavarnway. As I said, I'd prefer to go for a guy like Kuroda, even if that means go over the LT.
  2. Was this trade a steal for the Red Sox?, I'm not sure whether it was a steal, but seems like the As needed badly an OF like Reddick. Maybe Reddick will be better in Oakland.
  3. If we go for Garza, Kalish will be just the BEGINING of a large list of top prospects that we will give up. I'd prefer to keep our prospects and go to FA for a guy like Kuroda even if that means go over the cap.
  4. Bring Madson if you want, but please, first bring the SP (Kuroda/Oswalt/Garza, etc...)
  5. Well, the cherry (SP and RH OF) on the top of the cake is the only thing that misses this offseason. I'm confident that we will get those guys. If true, Boston be prepared, because I'm on my way!
  6. This. I'm not sure whether BC is that confident with this guy in order to share the load with Kalish all season long. How much is he going to make anyway? He was making 1.4 M, wasn't he?...
  7. Ryan Sweeney has a career 720 OPS
  8. Excellent News. Now, let's go for the SP. BTW Will Kalish take the full time job? or Is BC thinking in land another OF?
  9. At least BC should raise his hand and voice in this one.
  10. This is what I've been saying, and I agree. On the other hand if we sign a SP and Madson/Bailey I really believe that this team can be a serious contender team (regardless that an extra RF OF would be a very nice to have). As E1 said once, we have the core. The problem with this team now and then is/was the pitching (rotation, BP, depth). This core is a premium one, but we need a couple of moves in our pitching and hope that our 1-3 stay healthy if we want to run as real contenders, otherwise we will face next season with a lot of question marks.
  11. Thanks Mike. That's the list.
  12. We better sign Madson or Bailey. Those names make me nervous. On the other hand, let's say we sign Kuroda or Oswalt. Then we have 4 spots filled, but What if Bard/Aceves don't work out as a starters, let's say in Spring training or somewhen early in the season? What would be plan B? Miller? Doubront?
  13. Some have said that Crawford's contract valued according with the market in 2010 offseason and his caliber (numbers) as a player and some just the opposite. Look at Werth's contract and the OFs available at that time. I was very, very excited when he was signed, that I didn't care about the amount of his contract at time. This guy already ate 14 M. If he comebacks (likely, and better), everybody will forget the amount of his contract and his 2011 disastrous season, otherwise be prepare for an extensive crusade against Carl Crawford.
  14. I like this.
  15. If they sign Madson, as a fan I will be very excited, no doubt, in the end, any good player is welcome to improve our team. The thing is, if they give him a large contract (something around Pap's one), IMO, it will not make sense at all, since you already had a better piece in Pap. On the other hand, if they sign him for a reasonable contract, will make sense. As I said several times, Still I preferred Pap, even with the contract he got.
