I wouldn't touch our core players this year. ERod, XB, Betts, Blake, Holt (LOL!) and probably HR and Pedroia as well would be untouchables... Other than them, trade whoever you want.

I would wait until next off season and sign a couple of good FAs. I do not see a reason at this point to give up our best young talent.

As I said, most of the people here and out there agree that this is on BC and the FO, and that my friend is attached to the strategy/plan and hence to the excution and results.

Yup, they wanted to build a rotation around Lester but they shitted the bed on that. Instead they signed all this crap. The "strategy" was dead wrong from day one as some of us here and a lot more out there predicted.

This is pretty much the diagnostic. Most of the things you are saying here were commented in the offseason by some of us. As you said, we need a new direction. If they want to keep Ben as a puppet, fine, but under a new GM or president or whatever you want to call him... But the important thing is that we need a new strategy, specially at pitching. -
