    This offense is beyond anemic. I rated them C+ entering the season. I guess it was high. They are nothing but D.

    Quietly Narvaez is also regressing badly. He was key last year. Maybe Wong will retake the job.

    Thing is baseball is viewed like an entertainment rather than a sport these days especially in Fenway. It’s actually closer to what your regular “circus” offers. Most “fans” these days in Boston are pink hats, unfortunately. They just go to socialize, get drunk, flirt, sing Sweet Caroline and take the selfie while spending a ridiculous amount of money for second-hand tickets, s***** food and draft beer. If you think about it, it’s sad if you like the sport.

    I don't think it was a good idea. It's like making a parlay of 9 lines. If you are wrong in one line, you lose.

    At this early point of the season they are feeling the presure like it's already POs which is stressful. Probably they won't play loose again moving forward. If they lose again tonight with thier ace on the mound the sky will fall on them.

    oh, I´m not excusing them at all. My point is that Breslow decided to go all the way with youngsters and zero expirienced elite proven bats. All these young felleas have potential but they are still a gamble. The pressuere on this young fellas might destroy them in a couple of weeks. In the offseeason I wanted Bregman and Bichette. Those were very affordable. Story would have had limited time with Mayer taking most of the load.

    Oh and somehow we have one of the highest payrolls in baseball. Simply unbelievable.

    The “problem” if you want to call it that way, we are playing with so many inexperienced players AND we don’t have a single proven allstar bat. We are basically a AAA team. Anthony Durbin Mayer Narvaez Rafaela Abreu Then you have two average experienced bats Story Yoshida The only good but not elite are: Contreras and Duran The bench is even more horrendous. IKF, Wong and Monasterio This won’t end up well and could be epic and not in a good way.

    Wondering at what point we push the panic button. What is worrisome is that neither phase is working. None! I have no clue how you fix this mess, heck, maybe it’s not even fixable.

    And he is batting 2! Yes, 2nd! Then we ask ourselves why we don’t win games. If you want to line him up, fine, but second? Cmon man, help yourself for God’s sake! Geez!

    I’m reading here that Cora is the responsible for the everyday lineup. I have understood he is not. It supposedly comes from the “intelligence department” or whatever they call it.

    I rated this offense C+ entering the season. On paper this was supposed to be good enough with one of the best if not “the best pitching staff in baseball” —as we were told. Suarez looks like bum. Oviedo is not only fragile but a super bum. Bello is mediocre. Gray is a roller coaster. Corchet is legit. Early is your true No. 2 but still needs development. Neither phase is working and they are not helping themselves. They keep lining up Story and at the SECOND slot! And they keep putting Weissert in high leverage situations. These two alone have cost us at the very least 3 games. Said that I think I rated them too high. This is nothing but a D+ offense with a bunch of overrated players.

    We used to have two allstar proven bats. Now we have not even one. Every big market team has at least 2 or more. Breslow decided to go all the way with youngsters rounded with bit above and average veterans. It was very risky. Yeah it’s still early but you won’t win if you don’t hit. Add to the equation that the pitching hasn’t been good either. I’m not longer sure if this is even fixable. Look at the schedule. This could be over by mid May.

    BTW Weissert must be sent to AAA or DFAed. Guy cost us another game.

    This team by the end of May could be eliminated already. The offense is arguably the worst of the league and the pitching average at best.
