  1. We are probably going to score 10 runs tomo but the next three games only 4 runs combined and so on. That’s your 2025 Red Sox baseball signature.
  2. Since we are not going anywhere this year, time to limit Crochet at 80 pitches or fewer per start. Try to get something from Story, Houck, Whitlock, Hamilton and even Bregman when healthy and keep rebuilding for 2027.
  3. 12 LOB, 2 Runs. This team could go from mediocre to terrible very quick, especially if Devers cool off a bit. Said that, No matter what keep playing with the youngsters. Call up Anthony and Grissom already. Send down Hamilton and Toro both are not part of plan for the future at least not in my book. Prepare for 2027. 2026 is going to be another bridge year. We are not going anywhere this year and the next anyways.
  4. Explain me like 10 yo. Cora the other day pull off Crochet when we were wining at 85 pitches and we ended up losing and today he leaves him there when we are losing at 92 pitches thus far? Why? if I were JH I would demand explanations of these moves to see the logic behind.
  5. 6 LOB already and BABIP is starting to be ridiculous. As I said in the other thread we just can’t deliver in daily basis for some reason. It’s really frustrating and annoying.
  6. The way I see it, we have 2 problems. Big ones. Consistency and execution in clutch moments especially by our offense. Regarding consistency, this team plays like world champions one day and like Colorado the next. Look at this series for a proof. It has been the same through the season. Regarding execution, we have left on base a lot of runners that could be the difference in key moments; the latter ended up taxing the outcomes in a lot of games. There’s no surprise we have lost a lot close games. Again, look at yesterday’s game which have been pretty much the story of several games through the season. In short, poor execution in key moments in daily basis is translating in poor consistency thus far.
  7. This is when you have to take stats with a grain of salt. Some hits and runs came from a position player pitching and when the O’s felt they had nothing to fight for.
  8. Errors tax the offense as well mentally though. It’s not the same approach when you are a couple of runs behind vs 5 or more.
  9. This new Cora’s 85 pitch threshold is simply ridiculous especially when you have legit chances to win some games.
  10. Narvaez keeps hitting no matter what. It’s still early but if he turns into a real deal this could be one of the greatest steals in baseball lol
  11. Wonder what the hell is Cora doing to the pen. At this pace by July everyone is going to be gassed out and some at IL.
  12. 1/3 of the season is in the books and we are nothing but a 500 team and arguably the easiest part of the schedule with it. We lost Casas who was a promising bat entering the season but who disappointed all after a month of baseball, and our best bat in Bregman will likely miss significant time. Story is finally healthy but his bat is plain dead right now with no signs of life moving forward although he’s streaky. Campbell started well but then entered into a slump, but he’s a rookie with a promising upside but it’s going to take time to develop his potential, maybe a year or two. IMO this team is going to be nothing but a 500 team or bit better than last year but a team that at the end of the day who is going to miss the POs again. It’s simply not ready to splash among the big boys. It’s going to take a couple of more years and probably a couple of additions here and there but most importantly that our top youngsters become the real deal. In order to make reality the latter we have to be patient but most importantly Breslow and Cora have to give them a significant amount of ABs starting now. Mayer and Campbell are up but they have to call Anthony ASAP and alternate duties with Duran, Rafaela and Abreu. They also have to develop somebody at 1B. Casas is done IMO. I say give the opportunity to Grissom at 1B, put Mayer at 3B (until Bregman returns), give Campbell 2B (and don’t screw his value) and platoon Story and Mayer when Bregman return. Keep Sogard, Gonzalez, Hamilton and Ref as utilities. Regarding the rotation, it has to be 1. Crochet 2. Buehrle 3. Giolito 4. Fitts 5. Dobbins Bello and specially Houck have to go to the BP. Going to be interesting when Crawford and Sandoval are ready.
  13. IMHO the Sox are not yet ready for win it all or make some noise in the POs or even make it this year. If my hypothesis is true they should ramp up the youngsters now hoping they will be ready to splash in a couple of years like Duran did. I really have very high hopes on Mayer, Campbell and Anthony but we have to be patient. They probably are going to need at least a couple of years to adapt. I’m all in even if we miss the POs this and next year but you have to give them a big chunk of ABs.
  14. Couldn’t catch the second game, but reading the thread seems it wasn’t a good night for Mayer. Not sure whether it was a good idea putting him today in the lineup, I would have waited until tomo to let the kid install first but it is what it is. He’s going to be fine though.
  15. Os being the Os all over again. Os should have walked Devers, it was a no brainer man, but thank you lol
  16. Yeah, unlike Story he’s at least making contact. Wonder how’s his BAPIP these days.
  17. Story at this point is more than hurting this team. First he couldn’t turn a DP that cost us 3 runs and later he couldn’t bring a run with one out and runner on 3rd. Cora needs to sit him ASAP to let him clear his mind a couple of games or even more. He’s literally a black hole in this lineup.
  18. At this pace the BP by August is going to be gassed. btw… Bello is another case that on paper was a good project to risk on that didn’t pan out. It is what is and we have to move on and look for another top arm in the market. Regarding the offense it is anemic as hell while our hot top youngsters in AAA are getting rusted. But hey they will probably debut at 26 yo or so. This team has been run pretty poorly and could cost Breslow his job sooner than you think.
