  1. You said that ERA+ ERA- are not even good as OPS, and in the very next paragraph you use ERA+ to say he was very good. Kind of the point. Said that, Barnes never was a very good RP before 2021. Numbers speak for itself.
  2. are you really this dense? when I say everybody went to Nick's neck I mean most people were against his opinion. It's just an expression man. Chill. You are taking this so serious moon. Relax lol
  3. if he isn't called up it doesn't necessary mean he isn't ready. As I said, maybe he was ready but maybe Bloom wanted to finish his evaluations first to open him a spot. Yo do not know. We don't know. Rusney Castillo was ready but they didn't wanted to call him up because of an administrative issue. Not always the timing is synced when a player is ready and when he is called up... again it doesn't necessary mean a player isn't ready. Those are different things.
  4. Not really. I just asked the situation of Duran here and there but that was it. The Duran calling up discussion actually intensified few weeks ago when everybody went to Nick's neck.
  5. Now who is making assumptions lol You don't know that. Maybe he was finishing his evaluations of our question marks first in order to open a spot for him. Maybe he was ready a month ago or earlier when he was crushing the ball. We don't know but is very likely.
  6. No one is disputing that. As you said those are my assumptions, which is a big part of a forum.
  7. When would you have called him up? Next month? September? Next year? I would have called him up entering June, maybe earlier. Chavis, Santana are lost causes. Marwin and Bobby haven't performed well all year at offense.
  8. Kike has been doing well lately but some weeks ago most people want him not only out of the leadoff spot but of the team lol IMO If Kike regresses to his 300 OBP career mark, which is very likely, I'd put Arroyo or Duran (if he smashes) there.
  9. Naah Most people who were arguing with Nick a month ago or so thought Duran wasn't ready. That's a fact. Few weeks ago (mid to late June) vs now doesn't make any difference in my book in order to evaluate his skills, specially considering Duran just had a bad stretch in July. My point stands. He was as ready in mid-late June (when the discussion with Nick took place) as he is now in mid July when he is even coming from a struggle. As I said, I think Bloom had to finish his evaluations of our question marks. Regarding the proof, sorry but I do not have the time as you do to go and search for posts in order to probe that some suggested that would have been ok (as well) to keep him in minors in 2021 and call him up in 2022. It is not that big deal to me, trust me. I'd rather to post in what is going on now, which is exciting.
  10. Probably but those numbers are far from what he is posting this year which is the definition of very good in my book.
  11. You start saying that ERA is not a good stat for relievers but in the very next paragraph you point out that his ERA+ was very good. You are a mass of contradictions lol Before 2021 his standard and advanced stats weren't very good as you are suggesting. If you want o evaluate a RP you have to see his run prevention estimators, because in the end you want to hold and/or minimize the damage when a RP comes in. His SIERA last year which considers balls in play was 4, very close to his ERA. His 2020 xFIP which normalizes HRs was 4 as well. His FIP? almost 5. His peripherals weren't good as well. In my book before 2021 Matt Barnes has been an average to just above average RP at best. Never very good as you are suggesting. Said that Barnes has been a stud this year but bit shaky lately. Hopefully he can keep his numbers the rest of the season.
  12. Hopefully Kike keeps those numbers moving forward but I doubt it. His career OPS in July, August and September are in the mid 700s. I do think Duran can do better, maybe not 900 but something around 800, but again, we'll see. Regarding the D, probably Verdugo will take CF and Duran LF if Duran does not look good in CF.
  13. Well, some suggested as well that he will play everyday when called up. Yeah I'm not sure about the later. He can come off the bench as well, learn while contribute in different ways. OTOH If he splashes offensively and his D is good enough, I bet he plays everyday.
  14. Sure, none prospect is a done deal even top ones. As Nick said, we have nothing to lose. Odds say, he will be better than Kike/Santana/Marwin/Chavis at very least at offense. Maybe better than Arroyo and Renfroe, IDK. We'll see. If he splashes as most people want and desire, we have our next CF/2B of the future, If not, he can be sent down and try again in 2022. No big deal.
  15. If Duran plays CF everyday as the article suggests, I think Kike takes a utility role, unless he plays 1B. As the the article suggests, offensively we have got poor numbers from Kike/Santana. The other possibility is that Duran plays 2B but wouldn't make sense because you have Arroyo there who has been a great surprise.
  16. My point stands. Most people who were arguing with Nick a month ago or so didn't think Duran was ready. Some arguments were brought in to support the later. Some thought he couldn't hit in away parks. Some thought that his splits weren't good enough. Some thought his defense wasn't ready. etc. If he wasn't ready in mid-late June when he OPSed 900+, He wouldn't be ready now when he is OPSing 500 in July. Some thought as well he should stay in minors in 2021 and start in 2022, and there's nothing wrong with that but at the time I thought it was a very bad idea specially because we had nothing to lose as Nick said. Nick, ot and few others like me thought he was ready and some went to our necks as you are doing right now. You spend most of your time posting here, but I have good memory lol Said that, I think Bloom knew he was ready not only a month ago or so but probably entering the season, but thing was, he wanted to give Santana, Marwin, Kike, Arroyo, Chavis, Cordero and Renfroe a good chunk of ABs and figure out what to do next, not only for the 2021 season but moving forward. All those names were huge question marks entering the season. I think Bloom right now has a very good idea of what he wants, reason why he is calling Duran right now but not necessarily because he wasn't ready a month ago or so as some argued, but because he wanted to see those question marks first.
  17. As ot said, stop the negativity and move on moon.
  18. His numbers were never very good moon. You said that since 2017 he has been very good. He hasn’t. Last year he posted a 4+ era. 2021 Barnes numbers are the definition of very good.
  19. Now I’m serious moon. Act like a man. Whether you were against in calling up Duran or not doesn’t make you a bad fan, but some people here bashed some posters like Nick, ot and me when we thought it made sense to call him up this year. Don’t twist things.
  20. I meant bashing people few weeks ago who were all hands on calling Duran this year like Nick and ot. Said that most people also found more cons than pros on calling Duran this year. That’s a fact.
  21. So are you in the call up Duran bandwagon band now? Lol Good!
  22. Matt Barnes never posted this ridiculous WHIP moon. Never. Why? Because his command always was an issue. His ERA wasn’t this good either nor his SO/W, even his run prevention estimators. Cmon moon. What are you talking about? They signed him because they think they will be this good moving forward. As I said my guess they fixed something and they are betting he will be like this moving forward.
  23. Most people in social media are excited with this kid mostly in Twitter. Hopefully he splashes this year.
  24. Good call ot. Yeah, the bashing and the negativity at the time was all over the place.
  25. When the discussion came up, most people included you were against on calling him up this year. Go figure!
