  1. No 1s are excellent to elite No 2s are very good No 3s are good No 4s are mediocre to average No. 5s are below average to bums In my book Porcello was a number 4th pitcher. Mediocre or average at best.
  2. 2 is mediocre and very close to bad. Porcello in his career drove in that highway most of the times. Good to Very Good pitchers, drive in a very different highway. Porcello certainly isn’t in that list.
  3. Before that, we had runners at the corners with 1 out and Kike couldn’t bring a run either. It’s turning frustrating as hell.
  4. What’s this slot contract thing?
  5. This is a clear example of clutch pitching. Montgomery clearly is not a clutch pitcher and still, we couldn’t score in that 3rd inning. We should have destroyed him in that inning mostly because one of the best hitters in the game was at that AB.
  6. Yup. That’s how I called him when he arrived to Boston, a number 4.
  7. Montgomery was very lucky in the third. Montgomery’s OPS against this current lineup is 771. I agree with Ted, we should’ve hit this guy.
  8. A DP turned into a run due that pass ball. Tanner didn’t do what he was doing well —throwing strikes. The damage was minimal though. Bats need to wake the f*** up specially at clutch moments.
  9. Yankees’ clutch pitching has been very good lately.
  10. Yankees are very lucky. Our clutch hitting is not showing again.
  11. Most of his career has been mediocre.
  12. Yeah, FIP is not fair with contact pitchers.
  13. Well he has 8/11 seasons posting fWARs around 2 i.e most of them (the median) —kind of my point. If you take away his best and worst year he is something around 2. Thing is his 5+ fWAR year which was fluke IMO elevates way up his numbers.
  14. Great 1st inning for Houck. He reminds me Chris Sale with that wind up and delivery.
  15. Even at fWAR, Rick Porcello is not good. He has been something around 2.0 fWAR through his career. 2.0 fWAR pitchers are role players. Role players in my book are not good.
  16. I like fWAR over bWAR since the main source of fWAR for pitchers is FIP — things that a pitcher can control.
  17. Last time I checked his OPS was even better vs LHP. It’s likely he posts better than Verdugo’s 470.
  18. The evaluation for most of them started several weeks ago. If Bloom makes a trade(s) he will probably going to trade/cut some players soon.
  19. if the later is true, Bloom will have a very good idea of what to do in the next couple of weeks when he "finishes" his evaluations on Duran, Cordero, Gonzalez, Santana, Chavis, etc.
  20. I've been very high on Houck since day one based on what he did last year. Great to see him in the rotation. We can (should) sweep these diminished Yankees. Cora should manage this series as a PO series. This could be the final nail in the coffin for them.
  21. If the Nats are willing to trade Scherzer, they will try to get the best as possible —based on what’s available (whatever that means). I don’t see them extending him but you never know.
  22. Yeah, for instance I can easily see the Angels giving him 70-80 M/3Y lol
  23. Oh my bad, I asked whether he was going to be FA next year and you answered “nope” Now I see why. Said that IMO Scherzer has 2 more years in that tank. Something around 40-50 MUD would lock him down for the next 2 years but I think he will ask for 3 at very least.
  24. I think the Jays will not push this year. They are still not ready IMO. They have no BP. I think they will compete until next year.
