  1. that's what they pay him the big bucks for
  2. never a good thing to say when lackey's our starting pitcher
  3. i give up. your entire point is that navarro would somehow be helpful for us next year by sucking as our starting shortstop should scutaro, lowrie and iglesias all get hurt. how that would be helpful is beyond me
  4. i thought we'd be down 2-0 in the first the way lackey started. now we're up 2-0 thanks victor!
  5. i think we have to wait and see. the largest thing holding him back is his ability to stay healthy but his wrist injury and mono could just be fluke injuries i like his defense at shortstop and i love his on base ability
  6. to be useful to this team as the starting shortstop next year? because that's what people took issue with you saying, not that he might eventually turn into a useful player 2-3 years down the road
  7. navarro's put himself in a very good position for what?
  8. i'm sure youkilis will be sitting out the jewish holiday. it will be interesting to see who they plug in at first
  9. i can think of him and one other person
  10. i agree with everything you've said and i've always liked that story. murcer moved the glove as well, which had fallen completely off woods' hand
  11. in 2006 the st. louis cardinals beat the tigers 4 games to 1
  12. the point that was being debated was whether or not he'd be a quality option for NEXT YEAR. and i think it's safe to say that his play so far in the majors has proven that no, he is not
  13. theo put a good team together. it's not hard to imagine us being at least 5 games better off in the standings if half our lineup wasn't in the dl, but hey, that's baseball
  14. jm does like to misquote people and put words in their mouth but your exact words in regards to who would play shortstop for us if scutaro was hurt next year, were "we don't have a shortage of viable replacement SS between Lowrie and Navarro" and "if [navarro] was needed as a fill-in next year I think he'd be serviceable" that sounds like you were naming navarro as a plan b to me
  15. the beauty of baseball is that no one knows what will happen, that's why we watch. i can easily envision the red sox losing 2 out of 3 to both toronto and balitmore and being 8 games back of the yankees when we face them. but with the way the yankees are playing they could easily go 3-4 against baltimore and the rays and we could be within 3.5 games of them when we play them
