Gardenhire made the same mistake earlier in the year. It's almost as if he tries to lose against the Yankees but if the Twins put up a crooked number against Petitte or Hughes, which could easily happen the way they've been pitching latley, it would be hard for Gardenhire to blow it.

They're pretty evenly matched. The Yankees had CC on the hill, this was a game they were supposed to win. We'll see what happens when Pettitte and Hughes take the bump.
