  1. yeah, i think they're frustrated with being the worst offense in the majors and they figure they've got nothing to lose
  2. i like the attitude that beltre, v-mart and ortiz bring to the club. i hope we can retain it, even if we don't bring all of those guys back
  3. beltre! it will never happen, but i'd cream my pants if he exercised his option
  4. yankees228, did he look safe to you?
  5. i don't think it's been much of a smoke and mirror act lately. he's pitched badly and the results have shown it
  6. ethier - .286/.353/.489 lowrie - .258/.355/.492 ethier's the better hitter but i wouldn't consider either one a middle of the order bat
  7. i think that's a little extreme. ethier will definitely be more durable but it would probably be a difference of 150 games from ethier vs. 120 games from cameron i'm all for upgrading left field. i just think there are better options out there
  8. it's more likely than not that cameron puts up an ops in the high .700's and plays much better defense than ethier
  9. the stats suggest that he'd be a marginal upgrade over cameron
  10. how am i supposed to tune into a game at 6:72?! oh well, maybe i'll catch the game tomorrow
  11. were they going up against an evenly matched team when they were swept by texas and lost 2 of 3 to the orioles?
  12. lester because he's been doing it for 3 years now and the red sox can plug him in to the rotation and know he's good for 200 innings, 200 strikeouts and an era in the top 10 of the american league. and the scary part is that he's only 26 and he's still improving. this is his most impressive year yet and he's about to enter his prime
  13. i'm not crazy about ethier. he's a better hitter than cameron, there's no debate about it. but his bad defense limits his value and i don't like the fact that he can't hit lefties. we already have enough players who can't hit lefties in my opinion he's not worth the talent we'd have to give up to acquire him
  14. alright, it's my bed time. if this was a big game i'd watch but with daisuke pitching, i'm not going to stay up until 3am to see if we can remain 7 games back of the wild card or not have a good night everyone!
  15. his left injury might have something to do with his poor lefthanded numbers
  16. ending a rally by making the last out at third for reference, see gardner, brett of the new york yankees
  17. did crawford just pull a gardner?
