  1. Saltamacchia-- injury problems, defense is bottom tier, has never hit well in the majors, has never gotten a sickness or disease from a woman. Lowrie-- injury problems, defense is above average, has hit well in majors every time he's been healthy, got mono from some smoking hot chick named Starlight in Club Ultra in Providence.
  2. We also have to realize that Salty really hasn't shown any glimpse of anything above average play in the majors-- and that the FO knows that. Considering how little they paid for him in prospects, I see him as a stepping stone to Exposito, Wagner, Lavarnway, or whoever, while the rest of the offseason carries the C spot. If he hits well, great. If he doesn't, its not the end of the world, he's just another mediocre catcher, they're a dime a dozen.
  3. There was an article a longgg time ago about how Manny was breastfed until age 4.
  4. That's a scary thought. I don't care how old or immobile Manny is, he still is a hitter I would not want the Sox to face. That being said, this is a quote from an article I read earlier
  5. There's actually a charming article about A-gon and his wife Betsy... still searching for his breakfast choices though. Will inform Talksox when I find out.
  6. Wakefield has been in rough shape for a while.
  7. Erin Andrews in foxy boxing.
  8. Considering this off-season, I wouldn't be surprised
  9. I heard an interview with Youkilis this offseason-- he was talking about how he is naturally a third-baseman, and only played 1st, because that's where they wanted him. He's been just a tad above average there for his career, but with a full offseason to get ready for it, and more opportunities, he'll be just fine. If Iglesias is added to the infield of Pedroia/Agon, it will hide any inabilities Youk has.
  10. Wait what? Re-read those posts. It hasn't been a battle, it has been Dipre calling me names, and me simply not wanting to deal with it.
  11. Best OPS of a full-time shortstop in the AL in 2010? Alexei Ramirez at .744. Yeah, its that weak a field.
  12. I would absolutely love to use an all-powerful ignore feature. But as it is right now, if I ignore you, you'll still see my posts, and possibly reply to them. I don't know why you keep going on and on about this, I've been done with this argument since about 5 posts ago.
  13. Its a rough world out there Dipre. I have my own s*** to deal with, and arguing on a silly message board isn't something I'm interested in. I'll enjoy my experience here much more without you, so do us both the favor.
  14. I asked you a question twice and you ignored it in order to insult me. Can you do me a favor and block me? I really don't want you reading my posts and insulting me from now on.
  15. You know, Papelbon wouldn't be getting s*** like this if he hadn't compared himself to Rivera, and boasted about how many millions he can squeeze out of this team. I have no problem with an arrogant prick who performs (see: Manny Ramirez) but an arrogant prick who can't do what he's being paid monster money to do? I have no sympathy for him when the team drops him, and he's a set-up man in Pittsburgh in 2012.
  16. Go back and read the Lowrie thread. Time and time again you show skepticism of him hitting .800+ OPS. He's hit .800+ at every level. Bill James predicts him at .820 in 2010 I believe. I was asking a simple question-- how is it that you're so high on a guy like Iggy, who has yet to show much for offense?
  17. What is Adrian eating for breakfast?
  18. You don't believe he's going to hit anywhere near his career marks. I think that can be considered, as I said, "being down on Lowrie".
  19. I think they need to be upfront and ask him... how do you want to go out. He's making the 1.5 million either way, but if he returns to Fenway this year, he's going to humiliate himself. He's popular with Red Sox fans now because of what he's done for the team.... but there is a point where we might be calling him Brett Wakefield. We have some good memories old friend-- Do what's best for your legacy, and your team.
  20. Dojji-- if we're going to talk about a SS option that will be amazing IF he stays healthy, we've already got Lowrie. Reye's career numbers don't look like an improvement, with the exception of steals, but I think having a third massive base-stealing threat will make hitting them around the slow power hitters a bit of a challenge.
  21. For some reason there are a handful of posters on talksox who go into an overly paranoid state when new posters pop up with similar posting styles as formerly banned posters. One new guy was banned a while back that might not have necessarily been an old enemy of Talksox.
  22. Welcome. Your contributions so far have been great, so I'm sure you'll fit right in. On a side note, in case you haven't noticed it, there is an edit feature on Talksox, so if you want to move the "hello everyone" of your last post up to the top, you can
  23. In all fairness, it has just been Dojji and yankee fans talking about Reyes.
