    What makes you think Pujols leaves? There aren't a lot of teams that can afford to throw 200-300 million dollar contracts out there, and most of them already have a first basemen.

    I should expect it is going to be a quality prospect. From the reports I've read, Mcnutt seems ideal-- a back end starter with a low ceiling, but a good chance of making it at the major league level. It gives the Red Sox starting pitching depth, and the Cubs probably understand that losing a back-end starter really isn't the end of the world. It sounds like you've developed a catch phrase

    Fangraphs paints a very different picture. 2006 27 6.0 2007 28 5.6 2008 29 2.0 2009 30 3.8 2010 31 4.1 2011 32 1.5 This is a guy who is a year away from a 4.1 WAR.

    Says who? Says these unnamed sources that keep pulling s*** out of their asses? I have yet to hear one single named source say anything bad about Lackey as a teammate. Let him rehab, deal with his personal and health issues, and give him a few starts in 2012. He has been a quality pitcher in the past, there is no reason to throw him away for 1.5 million a year.

    I would believe that Theo is being professional about the situation, and has let the organization know who will be coming with him. There would be little to no benefit for him to hide that information.

    Seriously, JH and LL should go Big Brother on this team's asses. Tap the phones, scan the mail, do whatever it takes to find these "sources" and put their names and addresses out there for all of Boston to see.

    Whoever these "unnamed sources" are should be fired. Or lynched. Or simply shot and killed. This is turning into nonsense now, and mudflinging. Us fans are angry. We know that these guys have messed up. But do these stories really contribute to anything?

    Retired or not, he is still six years younger than Wakefield.

    I think JT is a free agent this year after his contract as a manager for a divisional team of that Domincan Republic T-Ball League expires this year. I wonder if he'd be willing to accept a position as a #3 starter going into 2012.
