  1. I suppose I should probably be watching this. Ogando, what are you doing?!
  2. If the Sox get rid of Ortiz, that will change the offense significantly.
  3. What the Red Sox needed last year was depth. Dice-k should be able to provide that in 2012. Counting on him as anything better than a #6/#7 starter however would not be a good idea.
  4. We're talking about a 49 year old non-knuckleball pitcher, coming back a year after Tommy John, who pitched to an ERA just below 5 in the national league the last two years he was healthy. He'll make John Lackey look like Randy Johnson in the AL East.
  5. Salty is just keeping the seat warm for Lavs anyway. Why argue with a player you're paying pennies and getting league average production out of? We're going to be regretting the trade of Fed-ex, and he is the guy no one seems to be talking about.
  6. Pink hats love it. As much s*** as we give them, they're really the ones paying for all these massive contracts. Keep the music if it makes them happy. I'm a plebeian who sits in the cheap seats, and wouldn't be able to hear anything from right field anyway.
  7. Signing players here will be a much greater challenge after 2011 than in the past.
  8. Is Buerhle a Type A? Considering that most of the qualifiers for status are counting stats, I would think Buerhle would be.
  9. Have you never slacked off at work before?
  10. Remember when Gammons mentioned this last June? Why didn't he have the surgery sooner?! Whatever happens, keep him the hell away from the clubhouse.
  11. The reports all claimed that most of this garbage started in 2010.
  12. Thanks for the explanation! You may or may not have started a big argument with this comment, but that seems to clear a lot up
  13. Not my point. One game from a World Series =/= Pure Crapola.
  14. The last four seasons? Excuse me? The Red Sox were a game away from the World Series in 2008.
  15. The clubhouse problems with the pitching started under his watch in 2010. Why bring him back?
  16. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/assets_c/2011/10/609Theo_thank_you-thumb-609x1100-53948.jpg Class act by a great GM.
  17. Who are you?
  18. The Red Sox, Yankees, Phillies, Tigers, Twins, White Sox, all have very good hitters at 1B already. But that doesn't mean no one is going to want the best hitter in baseball. The Cubs have money to spend. The Mets cut a lot of payroll this offseason and could probably make a whole lot of the contract back simply because of their market. The Cardinals are an obvious choice. The Nationals want to be a big market team. And what better consolation prize for the Brewers if they lose Fielder?
  19. Why does the best player in baseball not have a thread here already? 3 home runs last night. He joined Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson as the only players to hit three in a World Series game. Pujols also tied a World Series record with six RBIs in the game. Watch this space. Its going to be an interesting offseason.
