  1. Hmm... I don't remember any time that they didn't have the exact same opinion about something....
  2. And I want a pony.
  3. New restraints on draft spending.... That makes me wonder if the Red Sox have a bigger major league budget than we initially expected.
  4. I know what you meant. But without the advantage of the DH, the AL is roughly the same as the NL.
  5. I compared Papelbon's to Papelbon's. I was referring to Bard's last three and Papelbon's last three, in case anyone missed that.
  6. I disagree with this. Closers almost never throw to pitchers, and NL teams usually have deeper benches to pinch hit. Save percentage by league is roughly the same every year.
  7. You guys know the drill. He pitches like a #2 for the Yankees, then comes over here, gets shelled, and is retired within a month of opening day.
  8. Or a VA?
  9. Youk will get half-time at third. He is not playing the full year.
  10. I know
  11. From 2006-2008, he was on Mo's path to greatness, but his stats--while very good-- have still dropped off significantly since then.
  12. Ouch, I wasn't invited to this allegiance. Its like pre-school all over again:lol:
  13. My mind== blown.
  14. How are we comparing apples and oranges? Everyone complained about Lackey before he got here because he pitched in a pitcher's league, how is Santana any different? They're coming from the exact same team. Sure, you may not be paying as much for Santana, but you're also committing talent. Lackey didn't cost a middle of the order right handed bat. The worst part is that if he does not work out, you lose Youkilis, and you can't even offer Santana arbitration because he'll make 13 million in an arb case.
  15. I don't think so. Santana is overrated, overpaid, and pitches in the west.
  16. Agreed. The problem is they tried so hard to have elite players at every single position that it came with a cost. Instead of having a great, balanced team, they tried to have an epic team with no depth. If they make trades, they need to do some 1-for-2 deals that trade one great player for two good players.
