  1. Special. Brackman was reporting touching 99 mph last night. He didn't have the best of games due to him lacking control but I would assume that was due to him just dailing it up to 99.
  2. Yankees arne't going to trade for Lilly or someone like that to spot start for Hughes. I'd like to see Nova get a few spot starts in the second half to help limit Hughes. I'd really like to see them go after Berkman so long as he stops smoking and doesn't want his option picked up. I mean he could come here, try to win a World Series, if he does or if he doesn't he can go back to the Astros next year anyway.
  3. Still sounds like you're scared!! To the Tony Almeida guy, yeah I was wrong. meh. Glad we keep Montero and Lee is going to the Rangers since A they won't go big on their draft picks they'll get for Lee and B I still don't view them as a big of threat as the Rays or Twins would be.
  4. Yeah they traded Montero, but Adams wasn't a top prospect... Yankees have a strong farm system now and can afford to deal Montero, unlike in years past. Romine, Sanchez, Murphy, Perkins and Valera are there still marching towards the majors.
  5. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/yankees/yankees_on_brink_of_landing_cliff_b7oJw63k0cUXVdd02uuU1I?CMP=OTC-rss&FEEDNAME= Montero is heading it up. Looks like maybe Adams is in there too. Hope we didn't give up too much after that.
  6. If anyone noticed he did the same thing at every level in the minor leagues. It took him a while at each new level where he just struggled then exploded. I remember all the ellsbury is better than Gardner talk from Sox fans, I think I popped a vein in my neck reading some of that trash. Hopefully more Red Sox fans are converted in thinking these days.
  7. hmm I still don't know if I'd rather be hit with a piece of pizza or a ball.
  8. Seriously the entire system is rolling right now, there's really only one player who is sucking believe it or not and thats Jairo Heredia, among their top 30 prospects.
  9. Brandon Laird.
  10. Hilligoss was going to be on the bench in double-A at least golson will be on the bench in triple-A.
  11. Even with Vazquez I'd love to see the price on Zach Duke. If we can get him cheap or should I say less than expensive I'd do it and see if theres interest on Vazquez plus salary. Perhaps the Dodgers would be interested.
  12. I liked the deal until I saw Vizcaino. That could come back to bite us. I like the fact that Vazquez is more of a grown up pitcher this time around. He relied to much on his changeup in 2004 and rarely used his slider now he uses his slider more than any of his off speed stuff. In a contract year, I'd put him right below the AJ/Lackey/etc types and will happily take the two picks for him.
  13. Z makes a lot of money too.... If I had to guess maybe Wandy Rodriguez? Wade is one of the worst GMs would set up a nice rape.
  14. Capps reminds me of Bruney, no thanks. Unless its for like 500K - 750K
  15. player vs player is a horrible way to break down something. I thought this died out in 2003, it really just makes you look silly when you do these types of things as theres just so much more that goes into it. Anyone with the slightiest baseball knowledge can see the Yankees rape the Red Sox with their bats so theres no need for this and if someone needs you to show them that the Yankees lineup is better.....then they just aren't even worth talking to. If the Red Sox add A-Gon and Beltre/Holliday and it closes the gap and things can be reopened for discussion. As for NJ, I love the move. Before the off season started I had four targets, Granderson, Chapman, NJ and Conor Jackson. I would sub Jackson out for Holliday(depending on the price), DeJesus and Nady(personal fav)
  16. Bryan Mitchell at 37? No, you must be getting these ranks from PP, if you really believe he's 37 then you have no idea. He's a top 15 prospect in the system. Everyone one in the Yankees FO is estatic about Mitchell. They like the most out of Cotham, Stoneburner and himself.
  17. Agreed, I can't wait to see him play. Dude has an ubber bat, but its to bad he can't really field. Some scouts are recently turning on that though.
  18. Wait for Lackey for the Sox and Halladay to the Phillies. Mets will be forced to come in with a $60 million offer, its omar's style.
  19. Wish him the best of luck, such a great guy. I always thought he'd be a Yankee killer and now he goes to the Angels, figures.
