  1. He didn't "excel" professionally in two of them. It's subjective, and as someone who last year was pushing "no absolutes derp" you should understand this.
  2. Maybe he was content playing two sports, and being better at the two sports means he was better in the comparable sample size. Perception is nothing in an argument, but just google Bo Jackson greatest athlete. You will get hits. It's not rocket science.
  3. Sing it soul sista.
  4. It's just way too common for someone to accuse another of trolling because of a disagreement.
  5. I think many historians consider Bo Jackson the best athlete of the last century as well, so that's a moot point. Jackson was better at two major sports than Thorpe.
  6. No comments necessary, he was a mediocre baseball player and not important enough (probably due to mediocrity) to have any info on his basketball career. Just read the stats. And uhh, okay, well he was a great athlete, but he was mediocre at baseball. Bo was better at Thorpe's own game, and was an all-star in a sport he stunk at. He can run the decathalon and win all the golds he wants, Bo Jackson was very possibly a dual-sport HOFer if not for a fluke play that would never have happened if he wasn't as powerful a runner as he was. Bo Jackson was better at what he did. Thorpe was versatile, and skilled enough to play professionally in almost anything, but Bo is the better athlete.
  7. http://m.bbref.com/m?p=XXplayersXXtXXthorpji01.shtml Oh god f***in eh what a stud baseball player man. I wish we had his .286 lifetime on base percentage in Boston. We f***ing need someone like that.
  8. Post stats of his major sports career. K? That statement was about major sports, and it's extremely accurate. He was not that good at pro baseball or basketball. Who gives a flying f*** about amateur sports.
  9. Looked like a routine tackle. It was a totally clean play, it's just really awkward to watch it because it seems so flukey. What could have been though? Two sport HOFer was not out of the question.
  10. He played basketball too, he was not excellent at either baseball or basketball, and I clearly said "major sports". Great athlete, and probably the most skilled all-around athlete, but Bo's right there, and probably did what he did a lot better. He truly was a freak of nature. Potential 5-tool player in baseball (wasn't too good at contact/getting on base). In football he was fast, quick, and he could run your ass over all day. Imo, more impressive to be top-shelf at two major sports. Who knows, maybe he could have been great at olympics too.
  11. She's just kind of guyish looking even with makeup on.
  12. Thorpe was not excellent at any major sport aside from football. Bo Jackson was excellent at whatever he wanted.
  13. I don't think enough people know about Bo. Anyways, a top-shelf talent in two sports, something no one else has been. He could have been the best RB in the history of the NFL. He was the same type of runner AP is, and then he could play baseball at an all-star level.
  14. Bo Jackson.
  15. Tom Brady is just a spiral-throwing, no-huddling version of Derek Jeter.
  16. He doesn't get half of the respect he deserves. He's one of the best ever, and he really never gets talked about like DiMaggio or Williams. He was on their level, though. RIP Stan The Man.
  17. Let's put it this way, the Colts won 2 games without Manning, the Pats won 11 without Brady.
  18. I fully expected you, and everyone else for that matter, to head straight for the SB argument, which is rubbish because it's a team accomplishment. Brady never was a stat whore until he had an elite receiving corps. Manning has been the best statistical QB of all time, has been MVP caliber for two teams, multiple coaches and receiving corps. Brady's a great QB, top ten all-time probably, but Manning is the best QB of all time. Statistically trumps everyone, nearly as durable as Favre, and his intangibles are absolutely unmatched.
  19. As soon as they brought up SB victories, this article became a joke. Peyton Manning is easily better than Tom Brady, but I'm sure the Pats homers on this site will love this article and defend their guy, but realistically he's still not even the best of his time.
  20. And every day before that, according to pumpsie and Brennan.
  21. Yeah, that is pretty sad. I think it has everything to do with his popularity as a player, and how big of a deal they made out of his girlfriend dying. If you are famous, everything you do is going to be magnified by your fame. I mean, when SHE died, it was all about him back then. No one tried to go find out anything about her, her family, or tried to get a story. It was about Manti Te'o who was playing like a trooper. It's good to know we live in a nation that cares so much.
  22. I don't even know what to make of it anymore. Srsly fked up tho. If I had to put money on it though, I'm guessing it was a joke that just got out of control.
  23. 72, woooaaahhh, Spudboy isn't even the old guy here anymore. Not even close.
  24. Now about his draft stock...
  25. Te'o could be great in the NFL, but Willis is on a near Ray Lewis level of dominance. It's just unfair to compare anyone with Patrick Willis. I think he could be one of the best, though. Really like how he plays the position.
