  1. The Pats, if anything, can get him playing at a decent level. He does have value as a QB, there's something to be said about mobile QBs, and Tebow is pretty much the best QB at running the ball since he plays just like a huge running back. Still can't pass, but I had heard that his passing ability progressed when he was with McDaniels in Denver.
  2. I know what I'm calling A-Rod from now on.
  3. This is undeniably true.
  4. I'm not ashamed of what I type. I can say with full confidence that what I said isn't a gripe about black people, and I'd feel comfortable discussing it with black people as I would with white people. I interpreted your comment more as sympathetic than anything racist.
  5. You know that white kid who was with them acts like he's just a black guy with white skin. We all know that guy, he listens to Eminem a lot and wears South Pole gear.
  6. I think racism can occur in a Hispanic/black scenario, but there was nothing to imply that any racism had occurred in the Zimmerman/Martin case at all. You're right though, Zimmerman was portrayed as a white man, and I think a bunch of people just automatically assumed he was white with a name like George Zimmerman. Here, it's a black kid who killed a white guy, and he even said on his Twitter that he doesn't like white people. Even if he's only joking, he probably has a lot of resentment for white people to make a statement like that.
  7. No, you're just pretending that you know what teens think. I was a teen not too long ago myself.
  8. How many were you expecting? He said he hates white people, and that 90% of them are "nasty", whatever that means.
  9. Ortiz has been the best hitter, Ellsbury has been the best overall, Carp has been the biggest surprise and John Lackey gets a lot of credit for the way he's come back, shutting up some of the people who were saying that he's a cancer or that he was never going to be good again. This team has been a group effort more than any one player standing out.
  10. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/22/james-francis-edwards-tweets-racist-messages_n_3794913.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Caim%7Cdl2%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D362068 Lol. This thing won't get near the attention that the Trayvon Martin thing did, and this **** is DEFINITELY racist.
  11. All three should be put to death via the curb stomp.
  12. Wow, does that really help? It's like when you're a kid and you start cheering for the other team to do good just so that you jinx them.
  13. I've never seen a team rolling like this except for the '06 Twins after they brought Liriano up. Ofc, Liriano got hurt and the Twins ended up getting swept in the first round of the playoffs in typical Minnesota fashion, but LA is cruising like that.
  14. Will you have enough left over to buy everyone mlb.tv, or is it an old Lexus?
  15. Hawk is perfect for the White Sox, just like Sterling is perfect for the Yankees, and Paul Allen is perfect for the Vikings.
  16. Most people here don't really get into sabermetrics or anything, so OPS/OPS+ is probably one of the best stats to use if you want to be acceptable.
  17. That's not what I'm saying at all. If a SS has a .700 OPS (above average, right?) I'm going to say he's a mediocre hitter. If a 1B falls just short of that .775 mark, something like .770, I'm still going to think of him as a solid hitter. I respect positional values, I'll always be much more impressed with a catcher with .800 OPS than a 1B with .800 OPS, but that 1B would still be a good hitter like the catcher.
  18. It's not bad for a first baseman either, and it's pretty respectable overall. I'll take that production from anyone, and I think it's ridiculous to put a spoiler on everything he does because he's a first baseman. If someone's a good hitter, they're a good hitter and I don't ever really think about what position they're playing. If someone's hitting poorly, I don't give them an excuse because they're a f***ing shortstop either.
  19. Why does it matter. You keep saying it, but you don't explain why it matters. .800 OPS is above average, period.
  20. He hasn't even been as good a hitter as Napoli, so uhhh, probably not right? Napoli's been a good hitter this year regardless of what position he plays.
  21. No it doesn't. If you have an .800 OPS, you're a good hitter.
  22. He's slightly above average. Oh well, his stats are good. .800 OPS is solid at any time in my book.
  23. I don't really care what position you play, .800+ OPS is above average for all hitters. Not everyone gets to have a big slugger 1B who has .900-1.000 OPS.
  24. He used OPS first, that's the only reason I mentioned him being in LA, and that's why it's a fair point I think. his OPS+ is golden, his OPS is a little low because of where he's playing.
