  1. Who was also one of the best offensive powers in baseball. When you're that good at offense, it makes up for being a horrendous defender.
  2. I wouldn't want to trade Westy, but if it means getting A-Gon, then by all means go for it. I'd rather give up Kelley than Westy or Ellsbury, though, and add in Anderson.
  3. That's only 13 AB's, though... And Hermida is only marginally better than Cameron against RHP in terms of career OPS. I think it's going to be Buchholz, along with Kelly and Anderson personally. I don't like the thought of going this year without Ellsbury, and the rumors I've heard have all said that it would be either Kelly or Anderson.
  4. Agree with what's in bold big time. Also, I think getting Gonzalez automatically puts us near the top of baseball, if not the top, in terms of offense. A-Gon would be a true clean-up hitter, which is something we don't have right now. Move Youk to 3rd, and there you have it, that's a very good lineup, and our rotation is now possibly the best in all of baseball. I think Lester, Beckett and Lackey is the best top 3 in baseball right now (that I can think of, I may be having a brain fart though)
  5.
  6. I was responding to the post before mine.
  7. I think the plan is to pursue Gonzo, and move Youk to 3B
  8. Absolutely agree with you. This opens us up to possibly trading Ellsbury, and that we're in serious talks with Mike Cameron just sounds that much better. Although, I'd like to keep Ellsbury.
  9. Hey, Dipre... I agree with you. Peace out.
  10. Wow, I don't even post in the same topics as Dipre very much. He's usually in baseball discussions, and I like to move around from General Discussion, Football Discussion, and Basketball.
  11. Oh yeah, and seriously... Wagner was AWESOME with the Red Sox.
  12. Wait, does someone actually think Beltre ISN'T superior to Lowell? I got a good laugh out of that one. He had OPS around .800 every year AT SAFECO. You get him to Fenway, I think he's a prime cadidate to bounce back and have a monster year. Rising power number=More Walks=Big Rise in the OPS.
  13. This is one of those times where you're just like: You said it, not me. Agreed. I think he'd have a stellar year away from SAFECO, and at Fenway to boot. Not to mention he's a huge upgrade over Lowell. There's your problem right there.
  14. Agh! I wanted to see the Twins or Sox pick up Rich Harden.
  15. Yeah, in this case, there was absolutely no reason whatsoever for the Red Sox to want to pull a trigger on a deal like this. However, yeah, for the Yanks, it was a no-brainer. They basically every reason in the world to go for Granderson.
