  1. Calm down Michael Kay. The rule is that the baserunner has to be able to reach the bag with their arm when they're sliding into second or they're called out. Hinske was way out of the baseline. And even if the umpire didn't call Hinske out, Scutaro would have turned around and tagged him out. You can't blame your team losing 7-1 on the umpires.
  2. Did he jump on the bandwagon? When he was cast for Fever Pitch, he was a huge Yankees fan. http://www.filmstew.com/ShowArticle.aspx?ContentID=11260
  3. I can't wait to see Smoltz pitch again. P.S. - Isn't it funny that Jimmy Fallon is always cast as a Red Sox fan, even though he likes the Yankees?
  4. Barry Zito anyone? He'll be earning $20 million from the Giants in 2013. And has a $7 million buyout for his option in 2014.
  5. 2 RBI Double for Rolen. This one's starting to get out of hand. 7-1 Jays
  6. Wow, Wells killed that ball. I thought it was going out but it hit the wall in left.
  7. If it would have been a home run in most ballparks, then it's not a Yankee Stadium home run. The only time I think people fairly claim a ball hit to right field was a Yankee Stadium home run is when it gets into the first section of seats where the wall is around 350 feet or less from home plate.
  8. John Mcdonald (lolwut!) just hit a home run off Pettitte. That's his first of the year. 5-1 Jays
  9. Right, so then I don't understand how it's unfair for me to claim I think the home run was legit because it was hit 380 feet to left, yet you're claiming it wasn't a legit home run based on pure conjecture.
  10. I don't think it's any less fair than making an argument based on conjection, that the ball might carry well to left. I've yet to see any statistical or visual evidence that the ball carries more than normal to left field in Yankee Stadium. A lot of balls I've seen hit to left tail off towards center. So I don't have any reason to believe that the home run to left wasn't legit. And even if the ball does carry well to left, it still carried 380 feet. It's not like those 320-330 foot home runs to right field.
  11. As the announcers have said a few times this game, the wind blows towards right field in Yankee Stadium. That would make home runs to left more difficult. Maybe the ball does carry more than usual to left sometimes, but still, that was a 380 foot home run.
  12. Huh? Rios hit a home run to left-center.
  13. Yeah, it hit the foul pole.
  14. Pettitte's had a WHIP over 1.40 in each of the last 3.5 years. This year it's 1.50. So he does get himself into a lot of trouble.
  15. You have to give some credit to Romero. He might not be pitching dominantly right now, but he's a pretty good pitcher and he does have a shut out.
  16. Right, that's why I posted that Jeter got thrown out stealing third with no outs. That's one of the cardinal sins of baseball.
  17. It was a bad play by Jeter. The throw beat him by a mile.
  18. 3-run home run by Rios. 4-0 Jays
  19. Rod Barajas RBI single. 1-0 Jays
  20. Jeter gets thrown out trying to steal third with no outs. What intangibles! (Base hit on the next pitch.)
  21. He said it happens all the time but I've asked him for an example of it 3 times now, and the only response I've gotten is "denial ". Gotta love our resident troll.
