I don't have the number in front of me, but the amount of goals he scored against teams that didn't make the playoffs compared to the amount of goals he scored against teams that did make the playoffs is pretty astounding. A a large chunk of his goal total also came after the Bruins had clinched.
I'm not saying he's not good, or that he won't improve. But for a streaky goal scorer, who can't play defense, I'm not willing to give up $5 million of cap space.
If we can find a way to make Kessel on the Bruins work, and still fill our other holes, then great. But if we have to trade him, I won't be devestated.
