  1. WOW, Pettitte gets the called strike on a ball past the chalk it was so far into the other batter's box. EDIT: http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfx/numlocation.php?xml=http://gd2.mlb.com/components/game/mlb/year_2009/month_07/day_01/gid_2009_07_01_seamlb_nyamlb_1//pbp/pitchers/120485.xml&batterX=090701_192751&innings=nynnnnnnn&sp_type=1&s_type=1 That's the worst call I've ever seen plotted on one of these graphs.
  2. y228, your boy Ransom's at third tonight. Misplayed a ball already.
  3. These Mariners are a lot more fun to watch than the Mets. They don't have much offense but they can pitch, which is more important. And even with their worst pitcher on the mound yesterday, they still gave the Yankees a little trouble. Then again, to say that a team looks more competitive than the Mets isn't saying much
  4. Yeah, Bard's pretty much the man.
  5. Wow. Looks like we might not be sweeping the season series this year.
  6. He's played 19 games there, I think it's a little early to be making any judgments. He's a very talented prospect but I'd be shocked if he didn't finish out the year at Double A.
  7. Happy Canada Day everyone!
  8. 3. Ortiz 4. Youkilis 5. Bay ???
  9. /collects save Congrats on the new record Papelbon! (Suck on that Jacko)
  10. Mauer's the best offensive catcher in the game, plus he's a great defensive catcher. Put him at 1st and he's average offensively and defensively at his position. He's not old, he's a catcher and he will be for a while.
  11. No, believe us, we know
  12. It was .873 before his 2-5. He's getting up to his .900 territory from last year.
  13. f*** YES! f*** YES! Julio Lugo is... not the man. But I'm happy we're winning
  14. If we're gonna pay him $5 million, he better be able to play multiple positions. We still have holes to fill and that would be the rest of our cap space. Don't get me wrong, I like Kessel. The guy can score. Period. And he's only 21 so he can improve an his defense. But I think he's worth more like $3.5-$4 million at this point in his career. Maybe the two could compromise somewhere between 4-5.
  15. Ellsbury's the man!
  16. At least one Yankees fan gets it.
