  1. ...when the game is over? If you can't handle watching 9 whole innings of baseball, then don't watch the rest. Or maybe you could turn on the TV half way through the game or something.
  2. Yet, we've averaged over 5 runs our last 3 games. It seems like our offense is waking up until the last 3 innings of games.
  3. That's why I'm not worried. If he was throwing 88-89, I'd be worried. But he's struggling with his "touch" pitches. Those pitches take practice and repetition. And I'm trusting, given his history, that he'll come around after a few starts just as he always has in the past.
  4. You got me there. It's much more logical to claim the game's over against a pitcher with a 5.00+ ERA to claim we shouldn't be worried about a pitcher with a 5.00+ ERA. Give me a break, we aren't even half way through the game.
  5. I don't mean to be rude, but facing minor league teams isn't the same.
  6. Pitching well against major league teams as soon as he returns? It could be. It's not like he was on vacation, he had shoulder surgery.
  7. I guess we were asking too much of Smoltz to return to major league action and immediately be himself. In the past, it's taken him a few starts to get back to his normal form when coming off injuries.
  8. I was sitting right down the 1st base line when Bailey got his legs taken out from under him. I'd like to say I was worried, but I was honestly more excited that it would mean I'd get to see Ortiz come in.
  9. Yeah, that is one thing that seriously bothers me about the Red Sox. If it was like this 70 years ago, my grandfather never would have bought a cheap ticket of day to see the Red Sox and my family would never have become Red Sox fans.
  10. Where would Aaron Bates play, second base?
  11. It doesn't look like it to me. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfx/numlocation.php?xml=http://gd2.mlb.com/components/game/mlb/year_2009/month_07/day_06/gid_2009_07_06_oakmlb_bosmlb_1//pbp/pitchers/122477.xml&batterX=090706_194023&innings=yyyyyyyyy&s_type=1&sp_type=1&h_size=700&v_size=500
  12. I'd like to think it began in 2003 when the team got new ownership. That's when the consecutive sell out record began. But I've never lived in Boston so I can't really say.
  13. Single for Bay. Hopefully he starts to improve.
  14. Yeah, he's on his own planet. Somehow when stuff about Damon's marriage issues comes out, it's a Red Sox conspiracy to run him out of town. But when stuff about A-Rod's marriage issues comes out, it's just the tabloids.
