  1. I'll puke if they sign either Royal to a big contract. Big to me is over 3/39. Neither player represents a significant ENOUGH upgrade to warrant that kind of commitment. It would be doing the same stupid s*** they did with both Fatboy and The Sloth. Waste of resources that will hinder roster construction even further. If DD signs either of those two I will lose faith in his ability to do the job he was hired to do.
  2. Better go take the Geritol as I said nothing about any improvement from 2016-2017. Weak sauce response. Typical.
  3. That's right. And money talks.
  4. Third base is not played on some geek's spreadsheet. SSS alert. The kid should be fine.
  5. I agree. The idea of moving the kid NOW without a significant upgrade slotting into third is just f***ing dumb. Bogey looked like s*** until 2016 when he started to play decent D in the hole. He made big improvements and is now serviceable. There is nothing wrong with Dever's defense that can't be sorted out fairly soon.
  6. IT was fun to watch but as with all small guys he was a defensive liability. Other than filling it up he served little purpose while on the court. Take a 6' or 6'2" guy and he is NBA small. A guy like Nate Archibald was dynamic in many ways, not just one dimensional like IT. There have been a bunch of small guys in the ABA and NBA from Calvin Murphey, Mack Calvin, all the way "up" to Mugsy Boges. None of them were really worth much more than their novelty. Al Horford has a concussion and won't start play tonight against the world beating Lakers. I wonder if Ball will catch s*** from the Boston crowd particularly now that his little brother is in jail in China? I hope so. The guy sucks.
  7. He was piloting a pretty trick amphibious plane that was fitted with a parachute. I wonder what went wrong? The plane was a new design and already two of them have crashed. Gravity rules.
  8. I'm with you on this. It also helps to live near a major leagues city as we do.
  9. There is little comparison.
  10. f*** IT.
  11. Theis has been a very pleasant surprise. He was hailed as slashing big guy who could finish at the rim but who had demonstrated no other proficiency such as defense, passing, rebounding, and shooting. Kind of the soft Euro player archetype. With the Celts he has shown that he is a much better player than scout said he was.
  12. 9 and 2 baby. I thought turning over 11 of the 14 on the roster would take some time to sort out. So far I have been wrong. This team has good young talent to go along with a few pretty good vets. And it has depth. Still, it's only 1/8 of the way through the season. Barring further significant injuries this team looks to be pretty tough by playoff time.
  13. Who gives a f***?
  14. I just watched Alex Cora being introduced as the new Sox manager. Actually it was much like a coming home for him as many media types were asked by name how they were or good to see you by Cora. He was asked the usual stupid s*** and a handful of decent questions. He fielded them all quite well. I did find it odd that several times he refereed to "his country" as if Puerto Rico were not the United States. Sad.
  15. If Boy Blunder was such hot s*** in stocking a strong farm system why would he ever have to effect a rebuild? Certainly a rich and deep farm system keeps a team competitive regardless. Otherwise there would be a cliff. Some things just don't add up.
  16. I don't get this remark at all. Now I'm not the biggest of Hanley fans but I think he did a pretty good job at 1st in 2016. He was far better that I had expected and he was not a defensive liability. Of course I have not looked at his defensive metrics so I bet someone could easily Cherie pick a stat to argue my observation.
  17. Should be a good one.
  18. He should change his name.
  19. Would it really take a two year deal to re-sign CC? I bet he would be open to a one year deal of $12.-$15. mil. After all, he was thinking of walking away from the game.
  20. Unless the robber had a gun he would be terrified. Imagine that ugly pizza face on that 6'10" frame heaving baseballs at you and hitting you. Yikes.
  21. Oh my Gawd! I have always prided myself being able to remember useless things! That guy made me look away when he was on the mound. He should have been issued a paper bag when coming into the game.
  22. Lol. I missed the emoji and just figured you had not had your coffee yet! But no on Davis. Bigly.
  23. Well the Bible does say that we should not be judgmental. Still, there are some brutally unattractive people.
  24. Was that the guy who had a cologne or purfum named after him? Because I remember that guy being fugly.
  25. I don't remember the specific report or if it was ever verified but I do remember hearing or reading this in the Boston media at that time.
