  1. I agree on all points. With regards to our catching, don't fix what ain't broke. I think we can all agree that DD is likely to add some cheap MiLB rotation depth. One word to describe our likely season starting infield defense. Oye.
  2. Maybe DD is waiting to see who becomes available coming out of spring training?
  3. Meh. I am more impressed with Salty taking a MiLB contract with Detroit. The guy just wants to play ball. Flawed as he has been, I always liked Salty.
  4. That f***ing ball was trans-sonic when it left the bat. That kid has so much leverage with the puny body and quick swing some of his shots look like a true big guy slugger hit it on the nuts. Much of what he does is exciting. Not much of it is a big surprise given his physical skills. But that power is kind of freaky for a guy his size. That's what I see, anyway.
  5. I saw his inning. Unfortunately my Binky Blake lost a blocked ball and a K became a runner at 1st. Smith struck out 3 in the inning and looked really good. Boy that arm angle / delivery is f***ed looking.
  6. Hahahahahaha!11!! Your cover of being a math teacher in Virginia is blown. You are a hash dealing hippie from San Fransisco. We know.
  7. I fully agree. To me, re-signing Moreland was a very solid move when it happened. When JD was finally brought on it changed the roster in a way that Moreland would be somewhat unnecessary or redundant. Now Moon's binky signs for less than half his projected value and DD has made a mistake somehow. I like what DD has done so far to prepare a roster to go deep this year. Yes, I say grab some journeyman starters and throw them at a minor league fridge and see what sticks. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Sox will need 10 starters anyway. As I see things, as long as the Sox are not hit by a significant injury bug, this team could and probably should take the division. The Scankees are not a lock by any means. Time to fire up a bowl and relax.
  8. Lol. Typical spot-on assessment worded in Bell fashion.
  9. Yeah none of us really knew much about it when it was happening but JD Drew went through something similar with a critically ill child. It affected him in no small way from what I recall. Did Koji's flight for Japan already depart? If not, send a limo to the airport to snag him!
  10. I am waiting for this rain delay to end so I can see my team play. Price was going to start but he was left back at Jet Blue to get his work in because of the forecast. Beeks will start.
  11. I just came here to mention this. I saw it happen in real time. It was scary as f***. I hope that he will be okay going forward.
  12. I'm high as balls and it's not as funny as it should be given the source.
  13. So Ichiro is heading back to Seattle. I think that is cool. Imagine. He is 44 years old and still playing MLB.
  14. I suspect that he would not be willing to sign a minor contract for short money. He likes to wear a feed bag too much.
  15. Travis keeps hitting when I see him play. I am concerned about Mookie.
  16. Exactly. Castillo rolls of the tongue naturally in Spanish. Wellington????? That is even dopey sounding in English.
  17. I like this kind of talk Moon. I consider a strong AL East to be a normal state. I doubt that the Jays, Os, and Rays will compete for a playoff spot but good luck to any team trying to beat them routinely.
  18. Not for nothing and all that but I've been watching sam Travis hit in both Pawtucket and Boston for about two years. It seems that every game I see him in he gets at least one hit.
  19. Pronouncing his last name with a Latino accent is easy. I'm having trouble with Damien.
  20. So what is at stake here?
  21. Moon is right. The Padres shot themselves in the foot and s*** in their pants on this one.
  22. The Pads FO must suck bigly. What a dumb deal.
  23. I don't see a problem. After all, long balls are exciting!
  24. Maybe so. But that Mexican guy DD signed is a s***** second baseman.
