  1. I agree. I have not painted Castillo a failure. Not yet, anyway. I just did not like the signing and have not liked what I have seen so far. 72 mil and 28 years old means the clock is running a little faster that say on Bryce Brentz or some other prospect.
  2. I hope that Castillo becomes a bargain and puts up big numbers without costing the Sox too many runs while in the field. However, so far he has shown little of what the Sox or any other team may have "seen in him". Of course one can never believe everything one reads on the Internet, a while ago I read that the Sox had acknowledged having decided to sign Castillo without ever having seen him play in an actual game. That they had only seen his game action in video of some international games from several years ago. Maybe I have "misremembered". Maybe the reports were not factual. If not, then questioning the process by which his talent was evaluated is valid. Obviously he does have athleticism. That's good. It is also nice to know that other teams were interested in him as well. The guy had not played in a single game in about 1.5 years when he was signed. His initial games in this country showed some "rust", or so we are told. This year he has shown a lack of MLB ready skill and game knowledge. At 28 he should have been able to at least play the game pretty well. He hasn't. How many excuses will continue to be made for his poor play? As I said, I hope that the Sox got a good player. Nothing so far indicates this. JBJ has shown that he can play some of the game in MLB and from appearances has learned how to hit better in AAA. He should be up with the big boys getting a legitimate chance to show what he can do, good or bad. The Sox spent a s***-ton of money on a 28 year old "prospect" and must now force the issue to try to save face when they have an outfield candidate that is "more ready". If this guy fails to hit it big the Sox have some 'splainin' to do.
  3. If he does anything less than his best and does not maintain his current level of effectiveness than he is a loser and a pussy.
  4. The Sox are dialing up to 11 on the Fail-O-Meter. For every decent play he will make, a blunder will follow. Maybe he has learned how to play the game in about a month of games at AAA? That would be nice. Afterall he is "only" 28 going on 29.
  5. Miley bring the goods.
  6. How does a 0-16 team make the playoffs? It would seam that in that league everyone gets a ribbon anyway.
  7. But who needs and wants him? He can only go to an AL team. He's here until he quits.
  8. But that does not turn this team around. Who would be the replacement and what tools would this new guy bring to bear that Ben seems to lack?
  9. It is a valid question, though. Fire Ben. Then what? I very much doubt that there is a Plug and Play GM in the waiting that can come in and instantly undue the mess left behind while loading the roster to compete in 2016 and 2017.
  10. Maybe Castillo will rake? Or maybe he will s*** the bed. Most likely he will become injured before either happens so we can all be in suspense about his all world powers until next spring.
  11. I know Reyes is not dependable but he is an iron man compared to Tulo. Like UN says, this makes no sense. They are not going anywhere this year. How long is Tulo under control?
  12. Just more entertainment!!!!
  13. So far, yes. But remember, there are many ways to build an outfield!!!!!!!
  14. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!1!!!!!!!!1 I bet that it is!
  15. He misjudged a ball rolling along the stands that became a triple.
  16. There is a run Bradley may have saved.
  17. It was pretty dumb.
  18. Now that the season is over the games have become quite entertaining.
  19. Who is the Sox long man tonight? Masterson?
  20. Okay. Hitting Abreau is good, I guess.
  21. Betts can't make up for Hanley completely. Castillo up to his old tricks. Boo birds are busy.
  22. Good start by Kelly.
  23. So the Cuban Wonder Boy has been recalled. Time for some ballin'!
